Becoming a United States Marine was a dream come true for me on December 24 1965. I volunteered for duty in Vietnam and served two tours. SEMPER FI BROTHERS. GOD BLESS AMERICA AND THE UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS. OOH RAH.

I graduated MCRD san Diego 28 Dec 65. OOOrah.

No one could compose a march like John Phillip Sousa.

I remember when I was in the Coast Guard marching band out of boot camp. They sent us all over the place to march in town parades and holidays. We flew around in a C-130 cargo plane and all it had for seats were nets. Those planes could stop on a dime. I saw them get into a lot of small town airports. Anyway, it was a thrill to march through the streets and be greeted by all these waving, clapping people who were all smiles. It was a great feeling. Very patriotic.

Only parade I "march" and got wave at was in 4th grade. The whole school paraded in our town.

Aren't we blessed to live in a country where the absolute finest men and women will don the uniform and stand up for the rest of us.GOD BLESS THE USMC,USN,ARMY,AIR FORCE,COAST GUARD AND AMERICA.

They can do this blindfolded and still come out perfectly correct.

They do our Country proud. I’m an Air Force Veteran, all veterans are brothers and sisters and I’m honored to see this video.

Sousa knew how to write marches! After a tour of Europe, he was approaching New York, by boat, and the sight of the US inspired him to write "Stars and Stripes forever." A great rendition of this song, is on an old player piano. I had a neighbor who rebuilt them and he happened to have this song on a roll. It's amazing how a person can influence a performance by pumping the pedals, on a player piano! Good times!!

I could imagine them playing Stripes music from the movie

to all the undisciplined know it alls and flunkies the corp embodies the finest in leadership honor and strength; to all marines remember ONCE A MARINE ALWAYS a Marine until the day you die! You honor us with your presence..Thankyou

My dad was a Marine in WW2 , My uncle George was a Marine 1943-1948 , My oldest brother was a Marine 1972-1975.

I would just like to say that when I was in my passing out parade at HMS Raleigh in 1973, the RM band played Liberty Bell just as we turned into line to pass the flag pole & the Admiral. If any one is familiar with Monty Python, you will understand why we had trouble keeping a straight line

God Bless Our Soldier ‘s Living and Deceased and Those who Play Instrumentals like in this Band especially in Parades ..I Wish You All Luck in the Future..

My Marine Corps indoctrination was at PISC in 1973. This is among the finest of the band ensembles. Great job with The Stars and Stripes. Ooh rah.

I live in small town Iowa, and we are blessed to have a Marine band lead off our annual summer celebration. They came the first year, way back in 1976 for our Bicentennial celebration and they've been coming back ever since! They get to spend time with the townspeople & enjoy the party!! Some of them have never had the chance to visit the midwest & they go home with a different perspective. Always, always a class act, no matter which base they are from. God bless our military people. And God bless America! 🇺🇸

These guys can march and play with more excellent precision while marching forward, backward, or sideways than any band I’ve seen-period

having seen a USMC band in the flesh there is nothing more impressive than marine musicians

I can agree with that the royal marine band are something else, and im just biding my time till i get to come and watch the US marine band perform, im hoping they live up to my expectations (I mean of course they will).

This was the competitive march my freshman year in high school band. The 3rd trombone part will be stuck in my head until the day I die.

The australians and the Americans have always hand in Hand with us Aussies from all walks of life and will always to continue so till the end of time.

I believe the first song played upon taking the field is "The Battle Cry of Freedom" which originated during the Civil War. The first performing song is of course the Stars and Stripes.

Forgive me. We used to sing these songs in School.
