This is a great game. Still play once a year or so. The game nobody remembers was Rebellion. Which had some great concepts and uneven execution. First time I ever played a space strategy that allowed 3D movement of ships. Useful online against players. Less meaningful against the AI.

@@THEMIGHTYGAMMONTV Came out in the 90's. Available on Steam, it's mostly playable on modern computers. The graphics are a problem. If you play the rebels, you'll need to mute C-3PO. His endless shrieking....

@@THEMIGHTYGAMMONTV I think it was the only game I ever found where you could play as the Borg and assimilate ships. You could even take multiple Borg cubes and transform them into a Borg tactical cube.

Mighty gammon, i love your use of Stalins picture as the rebels. Also Vaders ship destroyed my ass about as hard as I am watching this video

Honestly the game is way more fun now than it was when it released. The mods are what make this game. It's not perfect, and imo (and many others) the land combat... Leaves a lot to be desired. But the galaxy-wide stuff and fleet combat is still top-notch. Now back to my annual kotor II replay

I've seen a lot of community modding going on. Been playing Vanilla since it released as its what I grew up with but will try some mods

It’s the mods that are amazing they practically make the a brand new game with what they have done. Try awakening of the rebellion 2.9.3 or fall of the republic

Corey has done an amazing job with Fall of the Republic and Thrawns Revenge, and Awakening is why I bought the game on steam instead of just using the disk version.

I've always remembered this game. Best star wars game by far once you've got the Remake mod installed.

You've already been told this but I highly recommend the mods for this game by the Thrawn's Revenge team, those mods being Thraw's Revenge and Fall of the Republic. I haven't checked up on them for a while but from what I remember FotR is still mostly a work in progress with having to add all the clone wars units in the game, but it's mostly intact and still a fun alternative to the galactic civil war. Thrawn's Revenge has been in development for many years and has incredible models, new mechanics, graphics updates, and many factions from Star Wars legends after the battle of Endor. It's honestly overwhelming how much content there is in Thrawns Revenge sometimes. The head of the mod named Corey has a youtube channel called Corey Loses where he plays and tests the mods in their most recent versions, you can watch him to get acquainted with them. If those overhaul mods sound a little too complicated then there are plenty of smaller mods that mostly add new units available on Steam Workshop.

Thrawn Revenge has come up a lot! Will give that a go, along with EAW Remake or something like that. I'm not a nearly as big fan of the clone wars era as I am of the civil war so I might leave Republic until after the others
