This could be a enormous hit by today's standards over the nonsensical cacaphonous music played currently in 2022; there are some good tunes out now, though I don't know the names of them. If the young people would be exposed to this type of music they would love it. The reason I say this because I was playing some tunes from the squires, Chocolate WatchBand , Kinks , Count.5 , Beattles, 13th Floor Elevators , Doors etc: and they were amazed that they had missed this music of that era, especially the early garage, punk, psych tunes , like The Seeds .

I was wonderin' if this would be Neil's song I'm Wonderin'. There were a lot of bands called the Squires for some reason, including the one that did Going All the Way. I have a 45 by The Band when they were called The Canadian Squires.
Awesome tune. Kinda Spooky. Now it's stuck in my head... Wonderin'.... Hmm...
Cool !

I say groovy baby.
The lead break is pretty good
A great gem that Rocks!!! It should've been a hit perhaps it fell through the cracks. But the music scene surely missed out. Imagine this group performing this song on Shindig or Where the Action Is. Perhaps it would've been a very wonderful performance.
greaattttt i like that!!!

If this is the Neil Young Squires then Ken Smyth was the drummer.
Issued in 1965.
Reminds me of lithium by nirvana. Kurt being born in the 60s he said he was inspired by old rock and especially the Beatles. I can hear lithium in the beginning
nagyon szuper.

This sounds like it could be a late 50"s tune that was heavy for its time. Like something that would have been popular at sock hops The vocals evoke a doo-wop charm. The sound of early rock-n-roll guitar before things started getting fuzzy and psychedelic
My last name is Squires, that's pretty cool.
Has anyone ever heard of Allah Las? This song reminds me of a few of their songs but there is one in specific that sounds exactly like this one. Sad thing is that I don't know the name... I will continue to search for the song. This song is amazingggggg

Great mellow tune here...which "Squires"? I really can't say.....I will say this...this song should of been cut for public sales, sounds like a hit in my books. Some references given to The Animals or The Beatles....I don't hear or see it.....possibly one had to have been there to know? This one's a keeper.....1965. Thank you.

Thanks Russell. That's at least 3 "Squires" bands...that, were from the 60's.
Reminds me of the music from Sims 4
Not the Squires from CT? They did 'Going All The Way', which should've been a YUGE hit
I think there was another band with neil young
how many bands had the same tune in their songs?:) Sounds like The Animals-House Of The Rising Sun

It's the Garage rock guitar chords, the classic one. Love them btw.
:D
I am a hundred percent sure that I've heard this exact melody in a modern song. Can anyone help me out? Can't quite put my finger on it but I guess it's a psychedelic rock/indie song. EDIT: Guys I found it! After sitting around and thinking for a while I suddenly remembered. It's called Roky Said by Dead Ghosts. I'm sure they were inspired by this song.
Who are the meathead's that voted this down seriously???
Where was this band from?? There was one in south Florida. There must've been hundreds of garage bands with the squires moniker

Sounds a lot like the Jesus and Mary Chain - I wonder if the Reid brothers heard this and were influenced by it?

JUST THINK WHAT PHIL SPECTOR OR BERRY GORDY COULD HAVE DONE WITH THIS SONG!!!🤔🤔🤔
Great song. My personal favorite of this band is "It's Cold Outside." As for all 60's songs sounding the same or like Beatle songs...well, that's just dumb as shit. As an example, the Rolling Stones sound nothing like the Beatles or Bob Dylan or Pink Floyd or...well see?
Kind of a surf guitar riff . . . it's OK but nothing special.
Bitchin Song!!!!!!!
Cool!
