There's a reason behind it. This car is one of the "greatest hits by Porsche". Cars like this come 1x per decade TOPS.

@@alpher3512 the best Porsche ever made is 911 GT3 4.0 with Metzger engine. No modern flappy paddle crap is going to top that car.

Yeah I don't think the battery one will be quite the same and will miss the 'soul' of the sportscar. The instant torque will make it very fun in that regard though, but it will be heavier.
What’s so exciting about EV cars? When you have internal combustion masterpieces like this! Long live Porsche!!

Accelerartion and torque. For some the sound of the e-motors. And for other is the rawnes of an ice and technical things behind it. No one's better or worse, just two different types of concepts. And the good thing is, everyone can choose what ever he or she desire :)

What a cat, what an engine what a review thanks Thomas.
insane pure track NA devil there. the GT3 is more unique I feel, rear engine behind the rear axle. Can be more challenging than a sure footed balanced 718 platform, thus more fun IMO. still both are are on their own benchmark for track cars.

The GT4 RS is the internal rival/competitor for the GT3. They needed to differentiate the cars from one another. So the Cayman has better acceleration times, but the GT3 is quicker around the track (double wishbone suspension). The other thing is both are equally expensive, that'd make the GT3 obsolet...

The cayman is a totally wicked car. I had the new 2020 911 S a Macan S and Cayman and two boxsters. I just love the cayman it’s sportier than the 911

Had Cayman 981S myself and GT4RS is like mine but turned up to 11. Bloody awesome.

Manuals are still alive and well here in the USA. I believe we have the highest take rate of manuals from Porsche

Spyder RS please
It will forever be known that the 4 liter N.A. flat 6 motor from Porsche will be that pinnacle I.C.E.
This really is a great car, I think the only part missing now is the double wishbone suspension from the current GT3 model, which really seemed to transform that car. If there's ever hope of an 'Evo' model of the GT4 RS, I would wish such a thing. That air filter box and intake system is how the 718 always should have been, it's just a shame there's no hope that would be a standard feature on the next generation of Cayman. I feel if the current particulate filters and emmisions treatment can progress on a little more than they are today, this sort of car can easily meet exceed environmental standards for local air pollution just by burning liquified gas (methane, hydrogen, etc) from a sustainable production. Without batteries, the total environmental impact could compared with an electric vehicle could be acceptable to society.

The swansong. It's basically a midengine Version of 911 GT3 RS. Although it's not as good as GT3 RS 4.0 (the best car Porsche has ever built), it's still a masterpiece. Very sad to see that such gems will never see the light of the day anymore.😔😔😭

I'd get Both, 911 GT3 I'd get a Manual and on the 718 Cayman GT4 RS after warranty I'd convert that to a Manual too upgraded for power. ;-D

I prefer it over the big old shifter in the GT4
Putting 'water' on the cap triggers me, it should be 'coolant' in my opinion. :)

In most racingseries in Sweden you are only allowed to have water as coolant in case you have a leak. Guess its the same in rest of europe at least.

That’s very true. I believe it’s actually a synthetic material that has a higher boiling point than water, but your point makes sense.

My Model 3 mid range accelerates the same as this to 100. This car sounds very good though!!
I am happy I will die before gas cars are phased out. I mean that, with every fiber of my being
They'll pay millions for this in a few decades. And thousands for 1 Round only on a track like this.
Your not catching the gt3
Porsche is a mass brand that now sells factory tuned mass cars for a price of hand built cars. Just like Apple does with electronics.
911 for the legend... but 718 for its so well balanced driving :)
