Absolutely beautiful 🤩 it’s truly something special to see what was once almost reserved for “history” made new ...and better.

Any chance we can buy these ourselves? Like just a module or two or something like that... for experimenters. I'd even be fine with assembling one myself. Also, it'd be fun to have a flip-display with all of the options for a 7-segment display... kind of a mixed-up technology kind of thing. ;D

Ngl I think a good card is a little more satisfying your new split flap 👀
So dope. Would be sick to do a memory demonstration with numbers on one of these things!

I first found the split flaps on Nelson's channel, then I went on a rabbit hole for more videos... Finally came full circle with this comment

Chris is the child who saw everything as amazing and never grew up. keep at it bud
Back in the old days, they had those at the Chicago Board of Trade to display commodity prices. I always liked the sound but the best sounds come from the Trans Lux Jets, the manual scrolling devices.
So glad to see hot dang evolve instead of disappear. Super satisfying sound as well. You one upped the that was easy button.
I want one! I would definitely annoy the crap out of everyone that comes over and only answer them using the split flap!
Yalls camera work and editing is straight up better than most most television shows.
Leave it to a room full of bored engineers to start a company and invent a parachute sausage cannon.

Build is probably more accurate than "Invent" as air cannons have been around for ages, and there was 0 original about that.
Yo! I’ve noticed the vibe of your videos has been taken to the next level....I’m loving it, man. Well done to you and the crew!
I love this so much!!! I’m coming over to play with it! What’s the address?

someone needs to re program that button. to start and stop his timers. lol . Pumpkin spiced latte on the ground
The waiting for the flapping to reveal the message is what makes those things unique! Awesome gadgetry type thing
when you said they're made from scratch my jaw dropped
A bar in San Diego had a flap board and it was the thing to catch my eye from the street

I remember an art installation where the split flap stayed still until someone walked past and then a sensor would trigger a message to appear. The messages were quotes and sayings from the artist’s home country.
In old Gimpo airport in the 90s when I traveled with my parents, I would sit, mesmerized by a giant arrivals board as it goes clackity clack as it updates flight statuses and wait for that rush of clacks as it clears flight statues that aren’t relevant anymore and shift all the entries up to make room for more flights.
I'm from just outside Philly & I was wondering where the Eagles got those analog boards since I've seen them a few years ago. That's awesome, glad the birds have the oat foundry on their side.

A field of bamboo being harvested in Minecraft is the most satisfying sound for me.
Great design! Really unique in a round about way. Love what they've created there for you, lots of fun, retro, and very satisfying! 🥰
this is amazing!! so great of you to support them Chris!!
I miss the spit flap board at 30th Street Station! I lived in Philadelphia for 13 years before I moved to DC
Yo Chris, really loved this video. Definitely wouldn't mind seeing more of them in the future. Keep it up Brother
When I was a teenager I found an old split flap clock radio in the trash and I had to take it home. This would have been around 1985 or so, and it was old even by then. The radio worked, but the clock wouldn't go. I pulled the back off of it and looked inside. There was a metal "wheel" about half and inch wide sitting next to the clock numbers mechanism and myh instinct was to just give it a flick with my finger. I did that, and the clock started working, and it worked for at least the next several years without stopping. I left for the Air Force a couple years later and it stayed at my parents' place. Don't know what ever happened to it, but I wish I still had it. It was very satisfying to watch.
Chris sitting under the “Hot dang” sign smiling like a little kid is my favorite frame 😂
Wow! This is so cool, I'd love to make something like this! That puzzle button is socio, I cant wait to see it feature in your upcoming videos! Thank you so much Chris!
Reminded me so much of the Balvenie series Raw Craft, by the late Anthony Bourdain, that I really loved. The presentation, the voice and even the subject matter sounded so much the same. Very good job.
I'm officially obsessed with your channel brother . Cant fault it...keep up the great content. Love all the way from a wet dark cold Scotland ...your vids make a dark day a bit brighter ✌
Some old school game shows used the split flaps...love the effect. This is an awesome addition!
I had a split flap clock growing up, the clicks were calming. Thanks for sharing ♥♥♥
Yoooo chris just got a new timer guys.
I totally need one of these in my life....I’ve always loved these in train stations (at least the ones that still have them)
That’s so awesome!! Your content is the best!!
I wish this vid had come out before I sent my Christmas list to Santa!
Love this thing, the noise it makes is extremely satisfying!
I’ve always loved those displays!
It's funny when Chris is justifying his splurging. Hahaha. The split flap board suits you, really. It's you. Great addition to the studio. (I suddenly want one, I don't need one tho haha)
This NEEDS to go trending. If it doesn't though, it's trending in my heart. Again, great video Chris. Thanks.
Wow it's so satisfying just by listening and looking at it
The cascading is mesmerizing.
The narration you did in the beginning really screamed to me that you should do that a lot more! Your VOSOT ability sounds great (VOSOT is a journalism term called voice over sound on tape, which is what you do to narrate).
I WANT ONE!!! LOVE IT and brings back memories of train stations when I was a kid. Can Oat Foundry product mini versions?
I kinda want one, but I have no idea what I'd do with it..
Tbh I love this series of unusual things. Glad its back
Keep up the amazing content! Loving the unusual serie!!
Thats sweet...like really sweet. Glad to see another unusual vid. Should get another for for secret escape room so you can give clues an such. Love the channel chris
YES!!! Another UNUSUAL! I love them
All legit stuff show in here. Love it man! ..
Would love to see Oat Foundry expand this into the consumer market with smaller versions totally want one of these now!
Loved this video! Can´t wait for the mystery decks umboxing video!!! Also, when are we getting a 2020 top 5 playing cards video?!! I recently rewatched the 2018 edition and I realised it´s probably one of my favourite videos on your channel in terms of video production and creativity!!!
You should totally use this as your stop watch!
Incredible. Chris is living the dream. 👍🏼
Chris this is cool. You know what would be bad ass doing all of your card deck designs on one board of 54 flaps, so each flap change would be a card from that deck.
Along similar nastolgic lines. I've always wanted a nixi tube clock!
I've always wanted one. That's so creative
That's really freaking AWESOME Chris! 👍👍😉😉👏👏👍👍
Shoutout Oat Foundry and them Drexel dudes, great guys.

Thanks Lazy Eye Greg!
Super cool signage! Haha I thought it was going to be about some new kind of flap card with a split face lol. This is so much better.
So happy that a mechanical display is still used today.
Awesome! I can see how much fun you can have with that 😁
Thought it was going to be some kind of card shuffling technique from the title... had to set my phone down after tapping the notification, and the first few seconds didn't sound like it *wasn't*... and then - At thirty-one - Today years old - I FINALLY KNOW WHAT THIS KIND OF DISPLAY BOARD IS CALLED. Thank you! Seriously though, I showed up here for the puzzle solving vids, but I subscribed for that earnest isn't-the-world-just-AWESOME?! attitude you've got.
Pretty cool. Always one of my fav thing ever. Didn't know the name of it until now.
Lovely piece of kit. Keep living the dream 👍
Such a funny video - I really enjoyed this! And big respect for supporting the next gen of entrepreneurs.
Real Cool, I would like to learn more about Oat factory, I love science and math.
Very satisfying! Enjoyed that!
Great purchase. Who knew a Split Flap could be both fun and cool 🤟
So rad, I've always wanted one of those!
This is making me want to use a split-flap concept in a piece of art, except with absolutely no electricity.
if the Split Flap could also display the time behind you when you solved the puzzles :) that would be quite awesome.
Unusual is your best series 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Satisfying. The sound and the look. :)
Always wanted one of these
Nice vid man keep up the great work 👍🏼🤟🏼🐐
Absolutely awesome addition to the office! Loved the thats what she said
Dude you are so cool. I wait for your posts. Please keep the love going!
Dang that's looks super awesome!
I am soo envious of this
that is bad ass! I want one.
Hahah this is awesome! The split flap is so cool. Chris gets the coolest toys
Your awesome man really inspiring 👍🏼:)
Dude that’s so dope always wanted to have one in the garage
that's so cool. Love all about it and they.
Chris that is freaking awesome 😎. I love watching you so much even. If things you buy are expensive you can justify anything. And I hope more people life this video so you can make your money back.
I love these unusual videos.
I remember those at the train station . .. memories . . .its a sound of summer vacation :)
That’s a dope dope addition to the office
That is really amazing!
Love this! Nostalgic 💯
Hey Chris I have a really cool idea that I think would be awesome since you have now released a 4th version of your cards. I’m sure you know of a trick similar that you could implement with each version of your decks. Can you please do a tutorial where you use extra cards or jokers or something where we think they are all V4s but you actually reveal a card from each version. An idea (I’m sure there is a better trick) could be an elmsley count revealing each edition at the end. Super visual and fun for holidays
This is gonna be epic!
4:15 I was expecting that joke 😂😂
love the new toy! always the dopest toys!
I love those episode!
You're amazing, love your contents.... 😍😍😍
I like the flip flap display.
Love the unusual series

That button is awesome for the puzzle solves but you gotta have the timer linked into that. I'm sure it's just a wiggle round some code but that would be such an awesome ability to slap the button at the start n finish off with that
