Update: Okay so I successfully fasted for one day yesterday only drinking water. However today I was so so close to doing the fast today! However around lunch time I was spending time in the sun in my backyard, and since I live in southern California there are a lot of succulents in my backyard. So I was sitting next to this plant called Stick Europhia or something, (I didn't know the name though) and there was a white sap that came out when I pinched the edges. I decided to break a few of the edges off and eat the white sap. Eventually I got a burning sensation in my throat and then my stomach. I told my sister and told her not to tell anyone, but then she told my mom and my dad. They told me to drink a lot of water which I was already doing. But then my dad at around 5 asked me "Have you eaten anything today," and I said "no." And then he said, "are you doing it on purpose...?" And I said, "Yes." So then he said I had to eat and he didn't let me continue with my fast, especially since I ate some of that plant. My mom wanted to call poison control but I said no, it's fine, I'm not going to die. Anyway yeah I'm sorry I couldn't fast for three days for you, but hopefully my prayers, through the intercession of the Holy Spirit, made a difference. At least I went through one day and then 5:31 PM today

Although you are right, do not speak of the speck in your brothers eyes when you do not notice the log in yours.. In other words, we all have something wrong that we do habitually without notice.Everyone does; and drugs, or lust is no different than secular music or gluttony. hello hope you are well... I've been struggling with a similar question because inheriting the kingdom of heaven is not by works so when are we supposed to put works or effort What I've come to realize is that the Holy Spirit is our enabler that is he provides strength for the effort😊 and so if its self control or perseverance as in 2nd Peter 1:5 you have to be committed to self control (thats your effort) and ask the Holy Spirit to strengthen you. Because the Lord can never give you a task he knows you will fail he has equipped us we With The His Spirit. He Loves us too much and He loves you too Stay blessed

It took a long time for me to get the love of Jesus and that happened when I was reading Galatians 2:20 alongside John Piper's podcast - when I could clearly hear in my heart 'I love you', and I stopped struggling to believe that the sacrifice of Jesus is enough for God to accept me. Right now I am in the phase of knowing the Holy Spirit and I can so relate to the words you have said. We cannot expect God to forgive us and continue leading a loose life of sin. ( Tedd Epps devotion) Thank you . I am on my road to sanctification. Glory be to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit

2 Peter 1:5

He mentions one thing wrong 3:47 "to the point of sweating drops of blood". That is incorrect. If you read the Bible verse it says Luke 22:44 And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was LIKE drops of blood falling to the ground. It is LIKE drops of blood, but not in literal sense.

You must be upset you've never experienced what this man is. If you have you wouldnt be judging and looking for anything to make this of worldly satanic things. I'm here to tell you. You can have the Holy Spirit work in you to. But you must be willing to forsake the world and pick up the cross and carry it. Stop willfully sinning and call out to Jesus, asking him to save you. Knowing that Jesus Christ died for your rotten sins to and God the Father raised him from the dead. Believing this with all your heart. Many times Jesus said go and sin no more. I am praying for you. I understand your frustration but it's really simple.

Actually it’s scientifically proven that when you are super super stressed you begin to sweat blood. So sorry but Francis Chan actually knows what he’s talking about. And you should study some Hebrew language because their translation and words are actually a little different. Hebrew language actually has like 5 different words for love. And they all have a slight different meaning. And we just have one in the English language.

I think he is the best pastor or say human that I've ever heard preach that so has a heart for God in all his sermons hes just totally in love with him.It's just amazing to me.I thank him for being real and honest about his struggles. I think we all get distracted. We're human.I love when they are honest.I've been praying and my thoughts will wander etc.Alot have admitted that or even falling asleep. I think he has the capacity to turn things off and sure he does.It's the flesh we fight.

In order to better understand the gravity of the sacrifice Jesus made, and how God must've felt as a father in having His Son pay such a heavy price for us. He is a father and was trying to relate to his heavenly Father.
