Had to leave the whole thing unedited so I can submit it to the leaderboards! Can't believe we did it on the first stream. INSANE! UPDATE AGAIN: HURRAY! They are going to accept my run! It just needs to be retimed to remove the loading times. Shout out to the Speedrun moderators for coming in clutch and also admitting that the rules weren't exactly clear for new runners (they are changing the rules to make it MUCH clearer what timing method you are supposed to use). OLD UPDATE: So the run got rejected because I timed it manually instead of using the auto splitter software they have. Which is very frustrating because the in game time is SLOWER than real time. So if I used the in game timer it would have been a faster run. For comparison: Astralspiffs run was 3:27:47 in game time, but it was 3:29:10 real time. So in game time is a full minute FASTER than real time. So I was handicapping myself by using the real timer yet they still rejected the run anyway. Disappointing but we still beat the challenge anyway, not being on an "official" leaderboard doesn't take that away from us.

Yupyup that's why i never tried for a speedrun either cuz all that technicalities yet they alow glitching and exploits to get a quick run. That's why if i see any clipping or exploits in a speedrun i immediately turn it off. They didn't beat shit and that SR ishould be invalid for cheating.

I’ve seen you skip that kitchen loot too many times to not comment. If you jump on top of the counter and look down you can grab loot from between the crack in the cabinets.

Why not make the extra inventory slot a ship upgrade you have to purchase so high quota runs can take advantage of it, but then low quota parts can't abuse an extra slot. So much of the early part of a run is the tension between equipment and loot.

People are saying he got really lucky, or the pickles did it, or making other excuses, but no. He played extremely well coupled with some rather good RNG. As opposed to everyone else doing this run, he chose to play very, very safe and not take unnecessary risks, which gave him a huge edge. People doing this run tend to go way too balls to the wall and go too deep in, when the real strat is to be out of the building at 12 30 MAX. Well played, Insym

there are pillars on the bottom of the bookshelves that are often mistaken as gold bars, so it probably was one of them!

The fact that Insym didn't mention that the category bans Beehives at the start of the video scares me. Please tell me he didn't sell a Beehive and invalidated the run...

@@JustMatchmaking First off, why so aggressive? Anyways, I obviously made this comment immediately after watching the start of the video. I was concerned that Insym's efforts were in damger of being voided, and there were hours of footage. I made this comment basically in the first 5 minutes this video came out. So no, I hadn't watched the run at the time. I've since watched the video/run, but I see no reason to remove my comment in case someone else wanted confirmation too.

@@nephel6158 First off, how was that aggressive? Additionally, fair enough, except your comment doesn't give confirmation. There's also a pinned comment that specifically says that his run was confirmed.

Next time when you try to beat your PR, you should consider cutting out the pee break. Might be necessary, but it doesn't contribute much to the run and was ultimately a waste of a minute. Might consider a bottle, bucket, or diaper next time.

You would for sure lose 30 seconds to 1 minute positioning to collect the bottle and pee. The Bucket may half that time if you wear pants that would require no zipping, so this could be the most optimal. The diaper would be the most efficient in terms of time, but the downside would be completing a run sitting in a dirty diaper for hours.
