The same hormone, relaxin that causes that change is also released just before a period. For women with a hyper mobility spectrum disorder their joints become even more mobile than usual. It’s not pleasant and the pain level increases

I can confirm a lot of "lower back" and hip pain come from this joint. I can also tell you that laying on one side all night is extremely bad for it. Try doing this: don't just put a pillow under your knees when you lay on your back.. put that pillow there when you lay on your SIDE also. You'll eventually realize ONE SIDE still hurts. For that side put the pillow between your legs, but DON'T do it for the other side. Whichever side you lay on that doesn't hurt when you put the pillow under both legs, keep the pillow there. Whichever side does start to hurt, put it BETWEEN your legs on that side. Or just don't use a pillow for that side if between the legs doesn't work after a few days.

I have sacroiliac pain 24/7 but usually less than 5. Until I was 20 and on the pill, every single period the inflammation in my abdomen cause me to pass out during the first 2 days. After my #1 baby I didn't go back on the pill but the pain had lessened and I no longer fainted. When I was 35 I was told arthritis. I was 67 before I learned about this joint. Oh yes because the pain was constant. Flare ups can last a week or 4 months. I've gotten injections if I go past a month.

People who have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome are especially prone to SI joint dysfunction with many requiring fusions. Mine started acting up in my early teens and I am now in my 50s. I gave up trying to keep mine in place about 10 years ago. Just imagine if your base isn't being the support you need for the upper body and all it can cause including excruciating pain.

I was told that to my face more than once. (Eventually it got corrected). But all those years up on my feet gave me three low back disc problems. Now in retirement I wake every day with stiffness and pain in my low back. I'd repeat my career but with several big changes.

have someone break your fucking back in that place. No but seriously, if your problem isn't just the inflammation, lie down and have someone firmly but not overtly harshly press on your sacrum. It should click/move back into it's place alleviating pain. This is only for when the source of the pain is the sacrum not being in the right place tho.

When I was still an officer I would experience lower back and hip pain. Prior to having to have five different surgeries I had an emergency room doctor who was a friend. I would go in while on duty and he’d have me remove my gun belt, lay flat while bending one leg over the other. He would climb on top of me, Ik right kinda awkward, and grab the stretcher while putting all his weight on my leg and basically pinning it to my chest. The Si would pop and then I’d feel this cool head rush and within a half hr the pain was completely gone.
