this scene was genius because it showed how much they, especially Tony loved Pussy. They overlooked all of the obvious clues because they liked him so much they just never would think that he would betray them. And it's proved in this flashback because the guy fuckin curses out Paulie , Chris, AND Tony and all is forgotten in a matter of minutes because of his charm. 1:25 The way Puss delivers; "Im fucking talking here, stop fucking interrupting" was funny with him throwing the ash tray and Paulies; "EOOHHH"
this scene is genius..the subtle nudges toward the fact he has the wire, the fact that he's clearly tense because he's nervous as fuck, he comes in dressed as santa rather than getting dressed there like Bobby does eventually and even the way Silvio recites a line from Godfather Part II instead of III (which he does multiple times throughtout series) which I think is a subtle indication that it's the past not the present, instead of labelling the scene with 1995 or something. The characters all look noticeably younger but it's not overdonewhich is hard to do sometimes. because it's only set a few years ago rather than 20 years.

The reason Sal did that, throw the bottle and almost start a fight with Tony was to protect him. He did what the FBI made him do, but then also wanted to cause a scene to change the conversation and prevent Tony from answering his question and giving away incriminating information. When Sal finally came clean and said he was just giving them useless information, he was telling the truth.
@laurenceotoole1700
Жыл бұрын
nah, he threw the ashtray because he was annoyed he didn't get the dirt he wanted. Recall later episodes where the FBI guys were trying to distance themselves from him trying to become too helpful and chummy - they only wanted what they needed from him and didn't care any more about him after.

One of the aspects of Tony (the character) that David Chase didn't overlook is the fact that Tony spends an hour a week with a psychiatrist. So quite often Tony will try to figure out what makes others do what they do (as Dr. Melfi tries to get Tony to figure out about himself). The two characters on the mob side who are most introspective are Tony and Christopher (Chris because at one point he wanted to be a writer and later because he attends AA and NA).

he also smoked in the pilot
Thank you for this upload
Tony never had that hair in the entire series but it’s in the flash back 🤣
I can already imagine one of those kids saying "Hey, I didn't know Santa was Italian! Who are you? Santa Clausinni?"
I love the part where Chrissy say "I thought you said that you're alright, Spyder."
I keep mistaking Vince for Joey Diaz lmao
When Chris interrupts Puss he has that same nervous, eager to please tone of Spider
Santa’s doing pretty good he’s wearing a gold Rolex he must be having those elves work overtime
One of the best OOOHS in the series by christopher here really quality work
The Budget for the Hair Color Dye for the Cast Members in this Scene must have been close to Six-Figures.
"Daddy why did Santa meet us in the pork store?" "Santa had to make a stop because he was really hungry"
"I want a shinebox for Christmas."
When sil said “it was you Fredo “ I laughed but I felt sad too because we all know what happens to fredo. Ooo the references
0:43 That's some toupee on Tony.
If you've been good, Santa will leave some gabagool in your stocking!
Wow that escalated quickly!
One of my favorite shows of all time!!
It was youuuu Fredo! Hahaha 😂
This is all great and all, but I am more impressed with Jackie Jr. knowing capital of Canada. That kid truly had it up there.
Lol at Paulie gettin in the christmas spirit... 1:58
Great reveal with Sil saying "It was you Fredo"
Bringing a reference from the Godfather movie was perfect.
"dont even need a pillow" lol
Love this scene
Tony and Paulie's hair looked so good back in that flashback.
I love the little extra hair wig they gave james for this scene. Just to try and make him look a few years younger lol
