I love the theory that brainless the 2nd is actually a secret genius turning tony and uncle philly against eachother

Just to shed some light on John Patterson (who this episode is dedicated to) - he directed all the season finales leading up to this one, as well as other banger episodes like "Employee of the Month" and "Where's Johnny".
The epiaodes that are left are all bangers, I'm jealous of y'all
24:30 unfortunately for those dealing with it the writers of this show were pretty spot on when it comes to the progression of Uncle Jr.s Dementia. I had a mother and grandmother go through it. They can show glimpses of being their old self and you think they are improving then certain things will happen that trigger them to go bad. And it just gets worse and worse.
Been watching since S1 with you, I'm a fan of the show and a rewatcher, seen it 20+ times, nice to see you enjoy it. thx

Formal is exactly right about how Tony vs Carmela viewed the AJ relationship. Tony didn’t like Meadow dating a black person because his daughter would get smashed vs his son doing the smashing. Carm thinks she’s a gold digger
@Cbricklyne
8 ай бұрын
I think Carm thought she was too old for him, mostly. And she was right in that respect. AJ and her were at different stages in their lives, and even under the best of circumstances it never would have worked out, despite AJ cleaning up his act for the most part.

Pure speculation, but I think that the fact that Tony saw Phil cry is the final nail for what Phil does in the second half of the season. Also unleashes his power to become a house.
You guys are the best man. It’s been fun re watching all of these with y’all
Some crazy episodes coming up, cant wait.
One of my favorite Sopranos openings. Watching Carlo do his deed while The Rolling Stones plays. But instead of having one of their overused songs we heard in a dozen movies, David Chase picks one that a lot of classic rock fans wouldn't know and it fits the theme perfectly.
Y’all don’t remember but I made a comment after the episode when Tony beat the senator. Formal asked why and I said because someone connected to the Boss should know not to go where he been
When I was married to my first husband, who was Italian, his family told me the same thing when I bought things for our upcoming baby - they have superstitions about setting up the baby's room prior to the birth, etc. Just saying.
The calm before the storm..
Don’t pretend like you know wtf little carmine is talking about lol

Just so everyone knows...in the real world it's a strength for a man to cry... and let his feelings out... if more men did that there would be less violence in the cities and around the world.. our ego... is just that ego.... to hell with a world that says if a man shows his feelings or crying is a weakness.....😢

“Let’s go lil Carmine.” 😂😂 He did that stunt on purpose. He's a bit of a poseur, if you ask me.
You actually DID hear the name Kaisha before, when the Carmine hit got called off and Chrissy paid those black dudes (who proceeded to get shot up) under the bridge. The one dude said not to mention the money to Kaisha. So it was at least in their database of random black names, if not Chris's because of his dealings.
@Cbricklyne
8 ай бұрын
Chris didn't shoot those black dudes though. It was the other two guys he came with that did it, and he was just in his car watching from some distance away. And it's unlikely they would have heard them talking before they started blasting away. Chris just picked the name because it's one of those stereotypical black names (like Shaniqua or Tanisha or something like that....) that white people sometimes like to make fun of black people for using.
@douglasmurphy3266
8 ай бұрын
@@Cbricklyne He set up the hit, he told Tony he knew these two guys. It is implied that they atleast conversed prior. I was merely wondering if Chris picked up that name subconsciously or if it was just the show writers picking a name from THEIR imaginary black world.
Did you guys skip the scene with fat Dom?

28:34 idk if you were saying that just in the context of the show or in general, but i made three attempts this year, one of which i fully expected to work beyond question. im not in some better, sunshiny, light-at-the-end-of-the-tunnel place, but i’d be gone without therapy
When Moltisante and Benny doubled back on those black dudes who were gonna whack Carmine Sr. a couple seasons ago, 1 of them mentioned a girl named " Kaisha". So that must be where he got that name👍

CT ftw!
AJ’s story line is interesting because we’ve watched his growth as a young man with no purpose and we saw what that looked like. But him meeting this girl and her child you see the difference. He’s a guy who feels like he has a purpose and his behavior reflects that.
This is my rewaud- lol
Season 6B next. Love the ending with Tony opening his heart to Phil even when the positions were reversed and Tony was in the hospital Phil used the opportunity to hold his feet to the fire during their business negotiations, Tony just defused a gang war with a few kind words that he actually seemed to sincerely mean. Tony has really trying to be a better person (with mixed results) since the near-death experience trying to control his infidelity, do better with his personal relationships with Chris etc and AJ, but he's really struggling to change. Old adage of can a person really change comes to mind...
This season has way too many filler episodes overall and the AJ storyline is unwatchable for me. Still enjoying the reactions though.
Phil is such a hypocrite😊
