*Doc* taking food from *Philly's* plate reminded me of the "Boondocks" episode when that girl tried to take fries from *Granddad Freeman's* plate. *Bushido Brown* nearly broke her arm.
The part where that old man takes a bite of Phil's plate was the real nail in the coffin, I think. Philly is as gangster as Tony. Maybe a little more.

It’s definitely implied throughout most of the series that the New York family is much more conservative, old school and by the books in how they conduct business compared to New Jersey. Just like Johnny Sack wanting to have Ralph killed over making a joke about his wife. “Avenging her honour” as he puts it. So it doesn’t surprise me Phil whacked the guy for doing something impolite lol
@dongiano
Ай бұрын
@themusic6808 yeah absolutely, but the NY guy I think was trying to tell Phil that all the 'food' on the table is his'. But for sure, the New York family was definitely more old school. I remember Johnny says he wouldn't even have to ask to have Ralphie taken out. Plus their boss lived to be like 80, so that whole NY culture stayed old school

@dongiano funny enough, the actor that plays Ogami Ittō/Lone Wolf is the brother of the actor that played Zatoichi, Lone Wolf also played Zatōichi's brother in Zatōichi 2 or 3. Oh and Zatōichi actor directed Lone Wolf & Cub 1 & 2
The picture they show of a young Paulie is actually Tony Sirico way back when. The guy was a stud in his younger years and was never formerly a part of the mafia but was a driver and did odd jobs for mafioso in the 1960’s & 70’s. His brother Robert Sirico is actually a well known Catholic priest who is openly gay. Tony started acting during a 4 year prison sentence and wouldn’t join The Sopranos unless they could guarantee his character on the show would never be a rat……which sounds a lot like Paulie 😂

Junior wasn't double crossed by the kid in the hospital. Junior was like his hero and it felt like a betrayal when he turned 'straight'. Remember the relationship with his father and his feelings of anger towards him. Junior became like the father he wanted, then turned into the disapproving father he hated.

ironic the way Tony destroyed the life of a childhood friend who owed him money and now he owes an old man who has known him foverer, acting as a favor! at what point is it cheaper for him to settle it another way? the shaky camera style represent Tony's unstable lifestyle with his feverish gambling and losing spree...the one thing his father never wanted him to be and Hesh knew his weakness. he chose not to pay his debt, it's a funny parallel with Michael Corleone and Hyman Roth, the whole thing was basically a power move...

Tony is a con artist. He is handling the therapy like everything else: a manipulation game that he needs to win.
Seems like the darkness and evil of Tony is coming out more and more. He can be charming, funny and even endearing at times, but David Chase, the creator of the series, is starting to remind us of who and what he really is-a lying, selfish, greedy, cruel cold blooded murderer with no sympathy or caring for decent, hardworking people in society. To him, we’re all suckers. It’s all about him. And Carmela is complicit in all of it. She was warned and chose to continue on with him.

I think Junior's story in S6E15 is the most depressing story in the show. The way both paths (taking his medication or not taking his medication) are both negative, one making him incontinent and irrational, while the other sends him into dreamland, making him completely removed from reality, and doesn't allow him control of his thoughts. The scene at the end just feels so incredibly wrong, and there's no way to make it right. It's so damn depressing.

I live in Abq next door to a Better Call Saul location -- Saul's "Omaha" apartment.
I had a crazy friend when I was a teenager in the late 90s. His family had money but he couldn't stay out of trouble. They sent him to a couple of those camps. A group of men come and snatch you up in the middle of the night and take you to the camp. He was gone for over a year each time. We couldn't talk to him or anything until he came back for good.
BETTER CALL SAUL....trust me
These episodes are pretty slow, but things really pick up after this
Y’all should do “The Wire” next
Boardwalk Empire would be a good one to check out if you like this show. It's less fictional than the Sopranos and there are a lot of good actors from this show. The plot covers the formation of the five New York families and all the wars that occurred before the commission was created. You will probably notice similarities to the Godfather which isn't a coincidence.

AJ GirlFriend Blanca don't think AJ is mature enough or a man. She see him as a "little boy" in the way he still carry himself. If you notice in the episode where Clever premiers when the Boss is cheating with the main character girlfriend he tells her "dont get me wrong, hes a good kid but you need a man" then the next shot is on blanca showing that line resonated with her.
Interesting how they made a monster into a likeable character.
😂Tony doesn't want to change his life. He started therapy to figure out his panic attacks or his passing out.
She has a very suspicious mind
My reading why the Dominican doesn't like Antony Jnr is because he's too nice. There's no drama. Plus he's not a man -- he's a boy -- reliant on his parents.
