They had all the pretext they needed with him wearing a wire. It was just them trying to justify killing a man they dearly cared for regardless of his offence. That on top of Bonpensiero's initial betrayal was really hard to swallow for at least Tony and Sil. Paulie seemed more at ease with the whole thing.

I know this isn’t necessarily the topic of this video, but it’s so interesting in noticing the detail in the character power dynamic through how the writers chose who could get away with making fun of certain characters. Like in the scene with Chris, Tony, Paulie and Sil, where Sil makes fun of Paulie, anyone else Paulie wouldn’t take shit from, even if they were close friends. But Sil can get away with it, as well as Tony. But if it was someone like Chris it would be a back and forth and a bug confrontation lmao
