They should have cast him in a more major role in the Sopranos... he should have played Silvio, because the actor who did absolutely butchered the role and made one of the most serious characters look like a caricature. If Vince Curatola played him, it would have been one of the most iconic mob characters of all time

@ Really? John Heard (the dad from Home Alone who played the degenerate gambler with a badge in season 1) he was nominated for an emmy and he played like three or four episodes. But I will agree Hollywood does have some snobs that doesn't know good talent.

More like why didn't he get more significant roles after the show ended... same with all of these guys.. seems like The Sopranos was almost a career killer.. even Gandolfini got shit roles after
1:43 this scene is the most telling of john's character imo and is what makes him such a redeemable and lovable character. he's not mad that his wife is fat. he's not mad that she failed at what she was trying. he's mad that she lied to him. she's the only person he is supposed to able to truly trust and even the smallest lie like this shakes him because of the constant distrust he has to face everyday in his work.

I think it's tied into the joke Ralph made as well. Hence the "do you have any idea what you've done" line, because he's thinking of the shitstorm he created defending her while she is eating boxes of chocolate and god knows what else behind his back. Awesome scene and awesome character.

He truly did love her too. He never once lost that love for her, all the other wives were thinner, everyone had goomares but John loved Ginny in a way Tony and Carmela never did. They had issues but he never stopped caring for her until he died

Fun Fact: Juan Bolsa of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul was written and named as an hommage to Johnny Sack, because the writers thought that Johnns Sacks was such a great Character. Juan Bolsa translated literally means John Sack.

Johnny Sack was all about respect and authority. No bullshit. The scene with Chris is amazing and shows his character.

I love Johnny Sack. There is something in this character that makes you tender. . . it must be the love he professes for his wife or his way of talking and reasoning. He is even more lovable than Tony himself.

Johnny Sack was the ONLY person able to check Tony Soprano....the scenes involving him and Tony were intense and unforgettable! I used to get nervous for Tony when they would go at it...lol...Vincent Curatola is an amazing actor!

You forgot one of the best JS rage moments of all time. JS is kicking it back in a lawnchair and Ginny comes out, tells him sally Mae called, says she’s going to Nordstroms, and then states that she believes they should go to Italy because Little Carmine liked it. JS then casually rises from his chair saying “Good thing for Little Carmine that his fucking wallets not tied to the god damned esplanade GOD DAMMIT!” it’s one of his best rages because his anger increases so rapidly That the sentence starts out normal but ends in a full fledged yell.

Vincent Curatola plays Johnny Sack so well. He gives a class on how to be angry and show it!
I remember watching the extras on a DVD . Drea de Matteo was talking about her experiences. She said that Vincent Curatola was so good in character that he honestly scared her.
They really found the best actors in the world for these parts, nobody was big hollywood, that's what makes it so special. I miss this.

He loved Ginny, sure, but he was so offended by the jokes about her because of how it reflected on him.
