See, the reason why no one knows where they heard this song is because it’s the song that has existed since the beginning of time. It’s the one song that’s ingrained into our head at birth.

I think he's still playing the same part when he's using two pianos as when he's using one. Like, if the song requires him to play middle c, he can play it on one piano as his other hand plays the lower notes on that same piano, or he can play the middle c on the additional piano while keeping his first hand on the first piano.

What makes playing two pianos difficult is that you can only look at one hand and you're blind to the other. You're forced to choose between looking at one or the other. I typically look at my left hand the most while I play, as he does here, but you can at least see your right hand out of the corner of your eye when playing on one piano. But sight isn't everything-- a good sight-reading pianist knows the piano so well that they can focus on reading the sheet music and barely look down at all. Impressive!!!

I actually knew this song because my grandparents had this electronic piano that played songs and my grandpa and I would always have dance parties, and the names of the songs would be on the screen. This was my favourite song to dance to, and I read the name, and it was one of the first songs I knew other than church songs lol Edit: it’s called maple leaf rag for those who want to know!

To me The Entertainer is pretty distinct, and I did recognize this one as Maple Leaf Rag, but that might just be me and my experience with these pieces. I will say that I agree that a lot of the Scott Joplin rags are easy to confuse if you hear them in isolation and haven't previously listened to them a great deal.

Growing up, this was the Ice Cream Truck song! Lol. I asked my mom, who played piano, what it was. So she pulled out her old songbooks, found it and played it for me. She then told me that the song was called Maple Leaf Rag and the author's name was Scott Joplin. She showed me the book with his picture on the cover. After which, she played another of his songs, The Entertainer. Imagine my shock the next time the Ice Cream Truck came and it was playing The Entertainer!! 😊 You are very talented!! I enjoyed this video a lot!! I can play the piano but not like this!😉🥰
