Halfway through I left a comment mentioning some quibbles I had over the things Johnathon stressed over others. One minute later, Erik brought them up with succinct eloquence and I happily deleted my post. The one problem I feel Johnathon has not addressed, is his call for ID verification, which would be the only way to guarantee that children below a certain age do not join social media sites. This would have a devastating effect on free speech, something that is barely still in existence in Europe. Sure, you can post what you like, but you can easily lose your job and worse, should your opinion not be within the bounds of current acceptability. No, I am not saying, why can't we scream the N word, I am more thinking of those who experienced very serious consequences for raising the alarm over various aspects of the covid hysteria. That's not to mention the immediate impossibility of questioning such topics as mass immigration and the transitioning of children. They are getting massive push back over newly proposed "hate speech" laws, costing many authoritarians their jobs, but this would be the perfect trojan horse to achieve something much worse. I am not discounting the negative impact of social media on children, but I think living ina world in which there is no means to even question the frankly deranged elites which misrule at present, would also cause immeasurable damage to them for their entire lifetimes. This is such a great channel, I am so glad I found it after his conversation with Curtis. Thanks.

The argument of adaptation to me reveals the problem with longtermism in E/Accs, in the sense that they have this idea of inevitability of technologly dominance that makes them unable to consider any restriction on what thay may commerce. It goes like this "In the future (¿how long?) hummanity is going to be an AI controlle hive mind, so don't bother putting any rules on my profiting of childhood mental health cirisis".
