You have to expand slightly heavily in beginning itself to avoid being smaller than players around.

ya best advice is to not be in that position and expand more aggressively earlier if you are in that position just wait and hope

boating like that is also good if you want to garrentee more land for yourself more land than someone else who is attacking that player, or to get borders on a bigger threat. still not effective though

Choose a good position, manage your troops well, use allies and your positioning to your advantage.

Try to mirror the start that Corgi does. 25%x2 40%x2 50%x2 and then get rest of open land and then go for bots. He usually waits for the top bar to nearly reach top before he goes for land
