At this point I think the Mariners literally just need A reliever.

Can they turn him into an elite releiver? Yes. Should they? For the remainder of this season maybe... Long term? No. Evans has the upside to be a legitimate number one starter, it would be stupid to do anything that might or that in Jeopardy.

Typical Mariners. Zero offense. Jerry the 🤡 DiBozo is so dumb, he's gonna wait too long as always to cut bait with bums like Garver, Canzone, Polanco...... Polanco MAYBE has a chance to hit .250 the rest of the way if he ever gets back, but those other 2 are done. Cal absolutely sucks too.

Jerry and co have now rebuilt the farm system TWICE with top echelon talent... he's responsible for putting in place an elite pitching staff. Oh, and he was the architect of the team that finally made the playoffs after 20 years. Is he perfect? Has every move worked out? Absolutely not, but don't you dare sit there and act like Jerry is on par with Bavasi or Jack Z. I'm not saying the team doesn't need to improve offense. Look at the big picture of the last few years, not short-sighted frustration. If you think all those losing seasons under their leadership equate to the competitive team we're fielding now, have your god damn head examined, or maybe you're a newer fan and don't remember those times.

@@A-fn6pc stop licking his balls. Jerry isn't responsible for the pitching staff, he has SCOUTS. Jerry was forced to change his philosophy on pitchers. He was in love with soft tossers & finally realized (after everyone else) he needed power arms. Every single year under DiBozo this offense is bottom 5 in the league. I don't trust Jerry when making trades or signed free agents because every single person he acquires SUCKS. And NO I'm not a NEW fan. And sorry, making the last spot in the expanded postseason doesn't count, they didn't win anything. Under your girlfriend DiBozo, the M's have won ZERO World Series & ZERO divisions. Get his schlong out of your throat.

Cal 'Big Dumper' Raleigh is a terrific catcher behind the plate (which is the most important part of a catcher's job), and a competent switch hitter with serious power from BOTH sides of the plate. Just try to find someone to replicate that...

I actually think it's the opposite problem. The Mariners don't wait long enough to develop good hitting and they rely too much on power when really they should focus more on contact/speed and more aggressive base running not in a trying to hurt anyone aggressive but like let's steal some bags aggressive. Home runs and grand slams are awesome but can we get more Bunts? I know people say bunts don't work and I say nonsense. A well placed bunt can be an absolute game changer.
