The main issue was red panics and rings town bell, instead of just sending gold miners away. Way too much eco disrupted and it throws him far behind

T90 if it makes you feel better the email chain reference was fairly accurate. The best one is after 5-6 Reply All's sent to the entire department you get the one brave soul to brodcast to the company "Dont Hit Reply All." Sent of course to everyone.

Specifically, they can drop off shore fish food at a dock, they won't drop off other sources of food there. However, you can collect food from other sources such as boar, then click on a shore fish from a distance to switch the villager into a fisherman, and then you can drop off that food at the dock manually.

Red tapped out too soon. Blue barely had forces left to spare. Red could have taken out the castle and reboot his economy.

I've heard the cat! :D Also, guys, do you think there is a point to start playing AOE again, after like 20 years or more? I played really a lot single player games around year 2000, even before Age of Conquerors came out, and I loved it back then, but haven't tried ever after. And now I wonder is it good idea to start playing on multi, or will I be destroyed hundreds of times before I would have any fun? How steep is learning curve nowadays?

Yes play, it's ranked - you will get balanced matches after 5 or so games Just do whatever have fun

I play it weekly and still enjoy it. You still have the annoying disconnects or slow lobbies, but the good and evenly balanced games make it worth it. I would not suggest just going straight to multiplayer. It is not fun at all to get teamed up with a 'noob' :) the advertised noob lobbies are not always filled with noobs only. I would advise you to watch some YT videos to get more sense for the game (like build orders and hotkeys) and also to learn about the new things in DE (like shift queing). Start maybe on closed maps like arena or black forest. I like to watch Viper and SpiritOfTheLaw to learn and relax. Enjoy the ride

I'm absolutely sure you'd have fun! I think it also depends on what you are trying to achieve. Just playing for the sake of having fun, or trying to climb as well? There is some sort of mini-campaign called "The Art of War". You can use it to practice - I think it teaches you everything important that you'd need to start diving into ranked. I've been playing AoE since about a decade as well, but literally just singleplayer xD It still takes me a lot of effort to queue up for ranked because I'm scared of it - but I didn't have any bad experience yet. Coming from League of Legends, I was absolutely surprised how peaceful the community in this game is! It's so much fun to chat with your opponent after the game, talking about each other's perspective and what not (and yes, that happens often, to me at least!) So yeah: I think you should definitely pick it back up! Can't really say how steep the learning curve is, I guess it depends on how you much you practice/if you rewatch your games and stuff. Guess it's a mix between linear and quadratic actually! And hey, if you enjoyed singleplayer that much - there's /TONS/ of new content! Why not play through them first, or while playing a multiplayer game once in a while? They'll surely help you to get back into the game in no time~

Now is the perfect time to join, there's a lot of new players from xbox who are joining for the first time! Pick a civ of choice, and maybe start out with closed maps like Arena, Amazon tunnel, or Black forest so you don't get rushed right away.

Are early units just not capable of destroying TC's, cause a fast barracks and unit spawn to stop citizens doing anything seems like it'd finish off folks pretty quick

3 months late but you can fast rush, and on low elo it works but if it fails, you end up being so far behind on economy because you spent all your resources trying to get a make shift army

If you don't value your time enough to speed up something like this then how are you making efficient time usage in life to get anything done at all? I like to watch paint dry in slow motion as the next guy, but at some point you've to start calling it a waste of time. Thank you for your concern. I have no problem with patience though, just a healthy respect for time. At least that's my point of view.

biggest problem with you prewatching it is that you keep on spoiling it even more and dismissing early parts of the game. If u havent watched it you wouldnt dismiss it as easy, you are basically telling us viewers that we dont need to pay attention early either.

Personally I'd prefer it if you didn't see it ahead of us, If you have or are gonna see it ahead of us just keep it too yourself and tell us you already seen it. Hearing you say things like "it's gonna be a good game" or "stay with me the build up is worth it." just annoys me. You saying things like that is same as the Annoying POS that's already seen a movie or show and is ruining the view experience for the other person by saying things and slapping someone on the shoulder, " OH OH HERE COMES THE BEST PART!".
