    I was about 10 when they were popular in the 80’s. Unfortunately I didn’t get to see the Smiths. But saw Morrissey a few times during the Bona Drag, Kill Uncle and Viva Hate days.

    The whole band are legends in their own right. The lyrics are sublime and Morrissey's voice with Johnny's magic fingers just couldn't be any more perfect. This whole album is like a time machine and I'm back in the glorious, one of a kind 80's. No words just emotions!

    Hi, sorry about the delay in replying. It was a great night. I was only fifteen or sixteen at the time. I went with a group of schoolfriends on the bus to Derby Assembly Rooms*, a ride of about fourty minutes. We were early so we went down by the river to smoke some very ineptly rolled spliffs before going in. I think we were way too young to get served beer. I knew a handful of the songs, but many were new to me. There were loads of gladioli thrown from the balcony. Magical. *Still open.

    @@clarissagarcia3422 Hi Clarissa - yes, they were extraordinarily good. My personal highlight was 'These things take time' - it was the first time I'd heard it and it blew me away. I love the lyrics ''these things take time/and I know that I'm/the most inept that ever stepped'' and ''the alcoholic afternoons/when we sat in your rooms/they meant more to me than any living thing on earth''. It's such a shame that Morissey has turned into a dickhead these days.
