I've just about reached lunar orbit sitting here at my desk, holy shla-MOLY what a performance
I used to say this about Miles Davis: this is the music that God listens to. Now I can say it about The Smile.
I was there! My body longs for that feeling everyday, what a day that was... I wish I could go back in time. Looking forward to see them again in March next year.

There are many reasons behind my YT nickname, and one of it it’s Thom Yorke. Your songs keeps healing me Thom, and for that i’m unconditionally grateful.
Love how Thom sings "someone lead us" instead of "someone lead me" in this version
His voice is like waiting for the sun to rise at midnight. It's with you at your worst, whispers you that the sun will rise even if you are in pitch darkness.

Lucky to be alive and listening to this masterpiece.
Don't bore us Get to the chorus And open your floodgates Just the good bits Without your bullshit And no heartaches Someone lead us Out the darkness Out the darkness No pain and No struggling And no one gets hurt We absolve you We absorb you Throw that rubbish away Someone lead us Out the darkness Out the darkness Someone lead us Out the darkness Out the darkness

Pop music? What happens when people stop listening to sad music.
floating in the universe with the smile
This is one of my favourite songs ever ❤. I was there on the Sunday morning, it was the most ecstatic, transcendent experience I've ever had on a Sunday morning (or without drugs 😂 other than a little bit of red wine). xx
I just got tickets to the two Brooklyn shows and it's going to be the light at the end of the tunnel for me after a very hard year. I am so grateful.

There and Hammerstein 👍
How fragile and strong at the same time! It's beauty and poetry and melancholy and hope transformed into music.
This video is an example of why I just paid tons of money to see them in Nashville this year!
When I'm feeling down I only have to think that Thom York must be busy working out another masterpiece and my day imediatly gets better...🤗 fuck this music is soo good!!!
I paid to see this performance online and I still think about the performance. That says a lot..... PLEASE release in blu ray 4K that would be so nice......
My soul grows every time i hear it
On and on and on and on and on and on and on throughout time, through worlds, and canyons, and rivers, and dreams. Thom will keep writing, and singing, and writing, and singing. Forever and ever and ever And we will Smile Amen

At 3.23 when Johnny hits that last extended note...Thom's 'smile' is in recognition.
It took me this live performance to fully appreciate this song. I think it’s way better than the album version. The rhythm is much more audible and adds an electronic vibe that I missed on the album. Also, Jonny’s delay effect fits the song perfectly.
OMG I have goosebumps. Ethereal, tender, exquisite.

This song just wraps you in warmth and lys you down to sleep with angels. Top 20 most beautiful songs ive heard in my life.
love how clean it sounds, vocals sounds like studio recording
Thom Yorke Is a musical genius without a doubt. He plays different instruments flawless and with so much passion!. With this beautiful song he moves me, relaxes me, and presenta me a different reality if this world. Music Is a very important compliment of our lives, and Thom Yorke Is a very important compliment of mine!!
With all the events unfolding in Europe I really didn't feel like staying alive was worth it anymore. This song helps a lot. Thanks, Thom, I appreciate this art
My favorite song off this great album. Thom and Jonny did it again. I just saw The Smile live in Rome and it's been a magic night.
That's just great! This live version is probably even better than the studio one (which is still amazingly beautiful). After watching the show at Magazine this was the one that left the biggest impression on me. So thank you so much for sharing it!

I was thinking the exact opposite - how they couldn't quite capture what they did in the studio with this, live.
@zynel413

@@twochordcoolit's a different, more minimalist take which I really appreciate. The studio is more grand and spacious with the string arrangements but this live version really shows how beautiful this song still is with all that stripped back
Love this version with the fast synth staccato stabs. It contrasts nicely with the slow singing and Jonny's beautiful guitar melodies.

I think this was from Magazine Show #2 on 30th Jan which started at 1am. It was absolutely magical to be there. This track in particular made it feel like cold and beautiful light was falling all around in the round. Afterwards, I got home at 4am, slept 5 hours, and then went back for the 11am Magazine show for more of the same. Sometimes with certain bands and artists all other considerations just go out the window. During lockdown, I wondered whether I would ever see live music again. Post-lockdown, I wondered if i'd ever see Radiohead again. I'm still wondering that now. But even if Radiohead never play live again, we will always have these Magazine shows, and now we have ALFAA too- which is about as perfect a record as i've ever heard in my life. I genuinely believe that Radiohead will still be one of the bands that people of the future will be listening to in 300 years time. No time spent listening to Radiohead is ever time wasted. 'How to Disappear Completely' is the greatest piece of music i've ever heard in my life. It's so good that I don't think even Radiohead will top it. If you don't believe me, watch this Canal + performance from 2001 >> kzread.info/dash/bejne/rKtlzaaxmqe5qM4.html / I don't know if we'll ever get another Radiohead album, but if we don’t- I’m ok with that. We still get to play the ones they’ve left us over and over. What a band.

This was my first concert after 2 years of lockdowns in the UK. It was everything that I dreamed it could be and more.
An exquisite piece of music. So much emotion contained in just a few lyrics. Right now, I play it 5or 10 times a day on repeat, just to hold on to that beautiful feeling of floating free for a bit longer.
This is from show #2, the 1 am America's set...best set of the three in my opinion
this is my fav track in album.

Some of the best songwriters/ arrangers of all time. What a blessing that they have transformed such a lovely intuition into gorgeous music. 💗
This is such a beautiful song and I'm totally obsessed with it! Such emotion.
Beautiful beyond belief 😢
Such a mesmerising live version! Transports you to another world. And Thom seems to be gaining the clarity and smoothness of his earlier years’ voice.
my fav song rhodes sound lulls me
Mesmerising. Such beautiful judgement...no overblown guitar or keyboard solos. Mouth open in awe of this thing of beauty. Johnny just caresses the strings.
Perfect as always! Johnny subtle accents just amazingly compliment Thom. Cannot wait to see them live.

Beautiful sound and cool vibes here! You are awesome guys!

I downloaded this LP a few days ago and finally got around to listening to it tonight with a few good glasses of wine, and I'm blown away as I knew I would be. Hat's off to the boys once again
Was at the first magazine show, blown away by this tune. Amazing stuff.
stage is amazing, well done
This performance stops me in my tracks. Jonny's guitar sounds heavenly. Thom's vocals are as good as ever. Tom playing with the modular synth. Amazing.
What a treat! Better than a chocolate bar..
This is so freaking beautiful!
This really is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard live, studio mix just does not do it justice. In awe!!
yeah we loved it, Mr. Yorke WE LOVED IT THAT MUCH

I didn't get to see the show in person, but I did luckily catch one of the streams at a movie theater, which was a surprisingly great experience. I would happily purchase a Blu-ray, as well as any release on vinyl and digital. Such beautiful, beautiful versions.
This is up there with some of Radiohead's greats. I can't wait for more releases
Just beautiful guys. Really made my sunny winter day here become warmer and serene. X
