I read an article about the life of "gifted children". It's one of the saddest things I've ever read. Most of them were sent to university when still children, so bye-bye childhood. These poor kids worked like mules to keep up with the curriculum. They never learned to make friends or have relationships. Many of them had nervous breakdowns, and the others quit academics altogether to do some other profession (like high stakes poker).

I know a guy with 160 IQ whom is a no-name IT guy. I supposedly have an IQ of 129, and am a part time assistant cook. (not even a chef, as I would hate having the responsibilities of a chef.) Being smart (or even just above average) doesn't automatically mean you will achieve great things. It just means you learn and understand things faster than the average. Also, a lot of people who show signs of high IQ tend to be on the autism spectrum. And they often show signs of high IQ in some areas, but are way below average in others.
@yessum15

@@konradwiniarz5253 IQ testing is generally a joke and anyone claiming an IQ of over 200 is lying. No one is recording or verifying any of the high IQ claims beyond around 160. IQ is a horrendous and unreliable way of measuring intelligence. All we can say for certain is that there are indeed probably many brilliant minds that are lost to poverty every year.

Newton really wasn't sure want to do with all that impossible negative energy he had sitting around anyway so he took off back to the 17th century. That my story and I'm sticking to it.

@@konradwiniarz5253 IQ testing is generally a joke and anyone claiming an IQ of over 200 is lying. No one is recording or verifying any of the high IQ claims beyond around 160. "Guinness World Records" is not a real record keeping company. It's a beer & entertainment company. You can basically just buy records like this. IQ is a horrendous and unreliable way of measuring intelligence. All we can say for certain is that there are indeed probably many brilliant minds that are lost to poverty every year.
