The smart way to improve your English | Learn Collocations

⭐️Improve your English pronunciation and expression by imitating a native English speaker - www.mmmenglish.com/imitation
Have you heard of collocations? When two or more words go together naturally in English - words that often appear together in sentences.
Learning COLLOCATIONS (rather than individual words) helps you to sound more fluent and natural when you use English!
In this lesson, I'll go through 20 collocations with the verb MAKE (words that often appear in sentences with the verb make!)

Thank you so much for the video, Emma. They are so good and didactic. As a portuguese native language, to me the most difficult is the use of "to make" vs "to do". I'd really appreciate if you could share a lesson with this content.

In my experience of learning English,I find collocations are the most important for the reason we have to know the correct combination of a noun and a preposition. Even if we learn the definition of every single preposition,we can’t easily handle the making of correct combinations. The reason is that every single preposition has an individual quality that can’t be easily handled with logic. I’ve been struggling with making flawless collocations. But,I feel collocations are fun.

I wasn't really aware that MAKE verb is so widely used as in your examples in this lesson. I guess that is due to that we learnt the meaning of MAKE as 'Produce' from young in my own country so it wasn't natural for us to combine the MAKE with those nouns. Thank you for introducing the importance of Collocations in our english speaking. I really want to learn and practice the sentences with collocations so that my written or speaking english look& sound more natural. ♥

I accidentally came across this video, and I have to say it's great. I have a suggestion though, to learn collocations and vocabulary in general in an easier and faster way, instead of focusing on a verb I'd recommend choosing a theme or topic. There's more retention when lexical items are within a meaningful topic instead of grammar related items.
