You don't know. All along, Alina Habba has been both Trumps' lawyer and a spokesperson. That way, commenting on legal cases, she could talk as a lawyer to be legal and tell Trump lies as a spokesperson. She wasn't the only one.

Trump must have thousands of non-disclosure agreements in effect. He made anyone who worked for him or entered into business arrangements with him sign one. Are these NDA's enforceable in perpetuity, or do they dissolve upon Donnie's death? Trump is elderly. I am imagining all the books that might come out after his demise.

Even so, it isn't the amount or the source of the money at issue. Doesn't matter where it came from. What matters is that it was not reported to the FEC and it was misreported to the taxing authority as legal expense, not a settlement, not "for services rendered".

6:06 Chris makes a good point here. If the defense is going to say, 'No, that isn't what happened,' do they have a counter-narrative to say that something different _did_ happen? Seems like a jury would need that if they're going to have 'reasonable doubts.'

Technically speaking, the defense shouldn't need to offer a single witness, offer opening or closing statements. The burden of proof is always the prosecutors. In practice, though, that is a terrible strategy.

@@TheBrothergreen Agree with you, but from the 'it's a terrible strategy' perspective, it's hard to persuade people (the jury, in this case), 'Don't believe what their evidence shows, believe something different,' and not give any accounting of that proposed 'something different.'
Get the reporter's outside the courtroom to start a chant TESTIFY! during trumps rants. Hopefully it will make him shut up and go away.
