I just found your channel and I really like your attention to detail and the scientific approach to testing. Thumbs up! I wonder did you ever test case fans as case fans and do comparison as such? The differences aren't as big maybe as when using them on a heatsink or rad; but there are still differences especially optimizing for low noise. Thanks for all the work you do.
Great review! If I weren't waiting on the next gen Noctua 140mm I'd go for these.
Now this warrants the review and comparison of nf a14 3000 rpm fans, with this, even more!

Thank you for your awesome reviews. Bought SW4 140 HS version and put it in mid position so that it blows air under my GPU. The results are amazing - this single fan at 950 RPM replaced 3x140 built-in Molex fans (Zalman Z10 Plus) and the temperatures stayed the same. Finally I can easily sleep with my PC on.

I have the Corsair 5000d airflow case, and I just ordered 2x of those 140mm beQ high speed for the front as intake and 1x 120mm variant for the back of the case as exhaust

@@jannick8632 Yes. You have two options with this fans. I have 3x 120mm in front of case (intake) & 2x 140mm on top of case (exhaust) I have them over year now & all I can say this fan worth every cent.
Hey for my pc case exhaust fan would you recommend Silent Wings 4 140mm or Silent Wings pro 4 140mm?
I have one question , if I use the pin to install the fan , how can I remove the pin when I need to remove the fan ?
Please review the Iceberg Thermal IceGALE ARGB 120 mm PWM
Great, thanks for.sharing... Anyone else has tested the Silverstone Vista 120x25m, Silverstone Air Slimmer 120x15 and 1 Silverstone Vista 140?

Welcome! And I will add the mentioned fans to our to-review list
Generally, 120mm fans are more optimal at 25mm thick than a 140mm fan that also is 25mm thick, since the scaling up is only happening to the blade length. Though, Be Quiet didn't just scale the blades.
Do you recommend Silent Wings 4 140 for 280 radiator? especially at slow speed ~900RPM, is it efficient enough?
new 140mm king!
Considering how much cheaper these are to the either if of the 120 or 140 pro fans, I'm gonna be slapping 3 of these 140HS fans into my case as the front intakes

I got a Hyte Y 60 and looking to upgrade the two bottom stock fans that cool gpu. It can house two 140mm or two 120mm. Should I go with two 140mm Silent Wing 4 Pros or two 120mm Phanteks T30’s? Thanks

Hard to say without proper testing. But I would guess that adapted 120 fans are not able to compete. Still worth testing though

@@errr9408 Really not sure, and I don’t want to make any assumptions that can turn out to be wrong. We’re working on more ‘best rad fan’ videos, so I’ll have an answer soon, just not yet
I wonder how much of a performance increase would this give if slapped into a Dark Rock Pro 4, that’s something I want to do to be honest. Or, Be Quiet!, if you are reading this, Dark Rock Pro 5 maybe?
Is the P14 in the graph the original P14 or the P14 ARGB?

Damn I really learned something new here. I never expected 140mm fans can be outperformed by 120mm ones. I have 2 140mm pure wings 2 fans installed at the front in my fractal define C case yet my components are running hot. So I compared the 120mm and 140mm versions of the pure wings 2 and apparently the 120mm fans have way better static pressure. Here I was thinking the 140mm fans are superior, they are not. So that probably explains the poor airflow in my case. Will be looking for new fans now with better static pressure thanks!!

I have for Intake 3x120mm Silent Wings 4 High Speed on front & 1x120mm High Speed on rear as exhaust. And on Top of case as exhaust 2x 140mm Silent Wings 4 High Speed. These fans worth every dollar.

140mm is better. If you have 2 exact fans of the same exact model that spin at the same exact rpm, the 140mm will push more air than 120. You don't have to take my word for it, you can perform this experiment with a room fan. Not only will a bigger room fan blow more forceful wind onto your body, but the wind will also be slightly colder than that of a smaller fan. HOWEVER, it is also important to know that the reason why a 140mm blows more air than a 120mm is because the blades on the 140mm have more surface. But having three 120mm fans will have a total surface area that is bigger than only two 140mm, which means three 120mm will blow more air than two 140mm. But three 140mm will blow more air than three 120mm.

@@angrysocialjusticewarriorI'm thinking of putting 3x140hs at the front + 3x120hs at the top and 1x140hs at the back on an NZXT H7, the ones at the top, 1 of them will be used as an exhaust fan working with the one at the back, I'll be synchronized at 1200rpm. What do you think about this ?
Hate the slim edges on these fans, it's the only thing keeping me from buying them since I'm in the market for some decent 140mm fans... until Noctua drops their next-gens.

Noise reduction is expensive. I switched to Silent Wings five years ago and that was the end of trying to find a fan that actually works. And it's not only about the decibels, it's also about the tone of the sound. In this respect the SW is better than Noctua IMO.
