@@no-kh1hj Sort of. They each have two specific queens that they would cover if one of the main cast are ill, on holiday, or not scheduled to perform. But the alternates do understudy all the queens, so they have to know pretty much the whole show. Take Hana Stewart, for example. She's one of the current London alternates. Her first cover is Seymour and Parr. Her second cover is Aragon and Howard. Her third cover is Boleyn and Cleves. This means that she primarily understudies Nat and Danielle, but if needed, she will go on for one of the other queens if one of the other alternates: Collette, Zara and Cherelle, are either on holiday or already scheduled to perform as another queen.

Yup. The alternates stand by at the theatre if one of the Queens get sick, or one Queens gets injured, or have something else to do outside the show and therefore could not attend
