I can't remember how many times my angsty goth self saw this band in the 80's! l didn't realise I'd still be just as angsty after all this time! It's still just as good now!

What an awesome LP it was, and still is. 1985 -> 2024, that's 39 years x365 days, so roughly 14200 days. So I may have listened this 5 000 times!

This beautiful song, in particular, tells how painful it's to leave each other , especially when the story was intense. This song marks the end of their story, the breakup of Andrew and Claire , Claire Shearsby, famous DJ of Leeds in the 80s, she also participated a lot in Sisters of Mercy creation , often present in the early years to manage sound and lights.

ive always thought of this song as he's missing a deceased lover so much he's trying to refuse believing she's dead and going to the train station to meet her. he's also going crazy, "frost upon my cigarettes, lipstick on the window pane", and he waits in vain because she's dead, its SOOOOOO sad

It's the best album they've ever made. It's sad that Hussey and Eldritch fell out over unpaid wages. The riff is so strong. I'm even trying to get Austin at AlternativeGuitars to cover this one. He did an excellent take on Mourning Sun by FOTN. If only I had a time machine, I'd go back to this era and watch it all live again!

*Secrecy and the Truth* "A North Star" To understand the truth of the world one must understand first that the world is based on secrecy, that all secrecy has modes of communication, and that all secrecy is either short-term or long-term. There are three arenas in which secrecy can lie. They are in 1. Politics, in 2. Religion, and in 3. Science, Engineering, and Mathematics and sometimes these areas are intertwined. Also, one must understand there are only two major modes of communication being books and electronics, and that in both there is a shared irony of those who can understand the secrecy. *On Transcending the Shared Narrative:* *BATTLE SQUARES* "Rogue 1" The truth is not a square. The truthis not a square. The truth isnot a square. The truth is nota square. The truth is not a square. The truth is not asquare. Thetruth is not a square. -LFZ *The Seventh Astral Plane* "Did you get tired of bombing the universe?" -Jack Torrance, The Shining "Some places are like people. Some shine, and some don't..." -Dick Hallorann, The Shining Honor and chivalry is only a beginner. You're resolve will be put to the test. Note* Attempting to resolve the shared narrative in order to achieve some sort of final transcendental state for yourselves is a futile playground.

When it's passing strange And I'm waiting for the train Caught up on this line again And it's passing slowly Killing time but it's better Than living in what will come And I've still got some Of your letters with me And I thought sometimes Or I read too much and I think you know Let's drink to the dead lying under the water And the cost of the blood on the driven snow And the lipstick on my cigarettes Frost upon the window pane Nine while nine And I'm waiting for the train She said, "Do you remember a time when angels? Do you remember a time when fear In the days when I was stronger In the days when you were here" She said, "When days had no beginning While days had no end when shadows grew no longer I knew no other friend but you were wild" You were wild Frost upon these cigarettes Lipstick on the window pane And I've lost all sense of the world outside But I can't forget so I call your name And I'm looking for a life for me And I'm looking for a life for you And I'm talking to myself again And it's so damn cold it's just not true And I'm walking through the rain Trying to hold on waiting for the train And I'm only looking for what you want But it's lonely here and I think you knew And I'm, and I'm waiting And I wait in vain Nine while nine And I'm waiting for the train And I'm waiting And I wait in vain Nine while nine And I'm waiting for the train And I'm waiting And I wait in vain Nine while nine I'm waiting for the train

*The Friends* A social life ends up in brawls, a lack of scholarship, jail time, drug dementia, STDs requires reservoirs of money, hospital time, spur of the moment calls and visits, a lack of job success, a lack of skills in general, uncomfortable sitting around time, and sometimes even death or major criminal activity. *The Lidded Eye* "The Awful Truth About Success" "I'm melting!" -The Wicked Witch of the West There are no friends in success and don't expect any respect. If you want the ambrosia you must stand your ground for it and it consists of carrion parts. It is typical of people to want the good things in life to be attributable to only those they find to be friends. Unfortunately, this is rarely the case and most quality lifestyles, historical credits, and things require extreme battles and perseverance and not handshakes and friendships. Success is really an evil place and most cannot even crack its egg open to see it. It is filled with danger and potential competition and threats. It is naive of people and the more naive people are, the easier the ambrosia goes down. So go back to loyalty and maybe someday you'll find the courage because conquering the books and standing in power are way too extreme for most. Only the gods transcend to the spiritual realm and it is here that they whisper to your mind waiting for you to slip so they can destroy you. One may begin to name them in fits of onomatopoeia or extrapolate them and sort them out and plan their great escape through their death in an attempt to communicate power and to become reborn again. -Merkwad the Scribe

*Darkness in Each, to Each Their Own* "The Tides of the Sap Tree" "Mathew: 28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee upon the waters. 29 And he said, Come. And Peter went down from the boat, and walked upon the waters to come to Jesus." Firstly, I, Villard de Nie'now, establish that the following legal truths are inherent and need no further justification than their definitions. The Foundations for the Absolute Root of Law are as follows, to be in the order of these, and in each becomes the subsequent darkness, which entails, and there shall be in the suppression the drive to all towards the first, in order to ensure the proper places of each individual, and to ensure the strongest in their places. That each is laid in its foundations and shall be both independent and known, except for the Nobility which is to function independently to ensure that in the case of an enlightened or better working system shall be the power to uproot these foundations, yet, even if known in their cases, shall be to returneth to these. And, that, all three as follows, have the potential for overlapping aesthetics, but the order of importance remains inherent. Also, that anyone is inherently above the law of any nation who does not break is legality, but that ultimately any legal system works in the tides of these definitions. 1. The Nobility, the Social Class, the Parties, the Law. 2. The Religious Class, the Scholarship. 3. The Materials Landscape, the Engineering. -Villard de Nie'now, Scribes of Thoth RVJRVJRVJRVJ

*Fancy Guys* Insanity is a determination of the power grid and political secrecy. The more you use it and the less informed you are, the more likely that you'll become insane. It isn't difficult to trade one's aristocracy for masculinity. One simply goes plain over fancy and buys a trucker's hat and a crossbow and loses their formality and cleanliness. Fancy goes better with skilled arts, not clothing. The forms familiar to the Spirits of the Moon: A King like an archer riding upon a doe. A little boy A woman hunter with a bow and arrows. A cow A little doe. A goose. A garment of green or silver color. An arrow. A creature having many feet. >>-----------> Credit to The Fourth Book of Occult Philosophy

*Are Goth Musicians the Ancient Gods Reincarnated?* 'Family of the Gods" Why is the Goth formula so elusive? Before the time of Jesus there existed a heyday of the written word in which many discoveries were made. It was common for those who were connected to the sacred paper to be dubbed as gods and made immortal from the ranks of men. It is believed that Jesus (or rather the writings of St. Paul) was one of these and these writings were made as a sacrifice in order to hide their sacred determinations. The ancient gods loved music and also their proofs and truths of the world. Before the heyday of the written word were many powerful druids who did not believe in paper but passed their sacred teachings through word-of-mouth. Did the ancient gods discover a proof of reincarnation and hide it from the public in order to return again and again amongst their circles. It was generally through Thoth that one became a scribe in Egypt. If one understands the irony of the Goth music at the level of the gods, they can see why it is a distinct possibility that these are them. A unique way to check one's stature of reincarnation is in the automatic writing of a person's teenage years. It is here before the development of the pineal gland where one may judge who they are dealing with. After forty generations or so their ways would become automatic and second-nature. If this is true then modern musicians are dealing with more than Orpheus to compete.

*The Awful Truth about Pseudonyms* I summon thee! Fame. I can't imagine why anybody would seek it on purpose. It begins with this moment of insecurity and then the next thing you know your life is a show-off game that never ends and a public confessional. People scrutinize your every word and action. You become like a public toilet. You never rest. I don't need death threats in the mail or the glorification of my insecurity during a public confessional. Grab a pseudonym and cover yourselves up! I can't imagine the curse of Jesus or how many people summon the Devil every day. Schizophrenia. -Aldec

In some rare cases it is a fatal flaw that becomes exploited to the point of psychological addiction. Intelligent people are generally non-political and a possible threat to national security.
