I think it's fair. You could spend the money right away or right when you want to buy it or you'll have to wait 8 years to play it. I myself bought it for around 5 euros in a sale two years ago. Of course, complaining about the price because the basegame is/was kind of lacking is a different story though.

i think if you bought it through steam you can get a refund for 'this item is now free/cheaper' and you can get whatever money back-- but i'm not 100% sure, i rarely use steam

Sometimes you need to manually download it off the EA app, have you tried that yet? I had this problem yesterday!
