As I am a father and husband who lives in South Africa I have had to take extreme measures to ensure my small little families survival if and when our country falls apart, we have many many problems here. Thank you so much for posting both versions as it would be very hard to obtain the first trap setup due to posting etc, will make sure to master that second version. Keep well and blessings from my little family.

Every time I watch one of your snare/trap videos I'm reminded of the trouble I got into during SERE for using a swinging log dead fall to take out a deer. They weren't impressed with my logic that it feed my partner and I for a week. No sense of humor.

My dad was special forces here in the UK, and he taught me a lot when i was younger, but how much of it i can remember is actually gonna cause problems if i do find myself in a survival situation...so, I've been relearning. these definitely make it easier tho for a newbie. I've also been learning lock picking (for urban erm... foraging :) as well as knot tying, tarp setups, water purifying, knot tying, compass reading, fire building, shelf stable food prep, etc etc trying to cover the all important C's as well as some other life skills i guess. But i'd really like to see you do a video on climbing and rappelling. i do actually know a technique for rappelling using only a rope but it is different from what my father originally taught me so i'd definitely be invested in seeing some different techniques as i'm sure there are more than one. and how to ascend after abseiling? i heard a guy talking about using a prusik knot but did not show a demonstration. love all your vids! happy trails :)

Another Gem in a field of knowledge. Its a sight that some will never get the knowledge of getting their own food. The one thing that I haven't seen is you carrying a weapon. I know its not PC to carry to some people, but if they only knew how much of a comfort, and necessity it is to have a weapon handy. Even a .22 wheelgun would work in most cases. May be someday you can cover the necessity of having a firearm ready in the event it may be needed. Keep them coming Cpl. Love your vids.

I like the simple trigger on the wooden deadfall. Went out in the back yard and made one in just a couple of minutes. I do believe there is a limitation with regard to bait. If you smear peanut butter on the string, great. But, if you are out in the woods without something to smear on the string, how do you bait the trap? I might be able to unwind bank line, insert a seed and then tighten up the strand. The ease of set up makes it worth experimenting with and trying different types of bait. Thanks for the vid.

Very good, you can take either one - $44 vs. free - or have both, 5 PDF-4's and make 5 of your own triggers and traps and place them in places you have seen tracks and you are set. Like you said, the more traps you have, the greater your chances of getting food. 5 is good, 10 is better. Again, a very good and informative video. Thank you. Here, skill out does gear.
