the simple most effective bass rig

How to make the U.Ks best simple and effective Bass rig.
This rig is so simple at was recommended by a very well know bass angler. Fish are spooked by complicated christmas tree type terminal tackle and this rig keeps things simple

Fantastic video. There are literally hundreds of rig videos available on here but the production on this one is great! Looking forward to seeing more!

Fantastic, I use a similar rig with a sliding ledger with a pulley bead, very easy to make up too, during the spring run I caught a couple of kippers. 😊

I was looking for some quick and simple rigs to make with the kids. Made these yesterday and within 2 mins of casting I caught a decent black bream!! 👍

Only difference I make is I use around 8 clear beads just forms a simple boom I find it stops the hook length from twisting around the lead length of line

You should put a surgeon knot loop on the bottom to allow for weight change if the tide picks up

Should imagine this rig would be ideal in calmer conditions were the bass tend to take the bait slower...you would have direct contact with hook so feel the bite develop....think I would use braid for mainline...reckon you would get even more feel for the bite if you use it.....great vid by the way...

So I'd have to use 25lb + mainline or the rotten bottom link won't work?

Great instructional video. Just one question... do you not find that the line with the bait gets entangled around the line with the weight?

Many thanks for the clear video. Taking a couple of hours to make-up rigs for the summer, and this is one I'll be making a couple of for the tackle box. Just a question about the 'rotten bottom' aspect of this rig. Surely the breaking strain of the hook length is irrelevant? - if the lead snags the only important relationship is the relative breaking strain of the lead length and the leader-main line? You could have an 8lb hook length and 80lb lead line and the hook length won't feel any pressure pulling out a snagged lead. But 20lb hook length and 20lb main line and it's

Hi Matt .could you use a rotten bottom clip link in place of the lead swivel. then you can use a heavy weight if needed.
