Children learn what they live. If there is no dad in the home they need good mentors. With a good mentor the advice they give is golden. Speaking from experience. We can speak words of life into people as most children aim to please. Oftentimes a broken grown up has an inner child that needs to be fed and spoken to with words of life, affirmation, and encouragement for growth. Behavior is learned and can be changed for the better even in a hurting adult. It takes patience, lots of love, determination, stability, and a never giving up on you attitude! Sometimes, it feels like a hammering a nail into a solid post that’s not budging but keep on hammering until it sticks!

Bishop T.D. Jakes ,it's so good to hear you and your son Dexter Jakes have this beautiful father and son talk and to have it on utube. So many young men and especially black men do not have fathers. I don't believe these fathers don't want to be there for their children but society make it so hard for them. I just read that a father was at a car dealer and there was gunshots right outside the glass window where he and his three children were sitting. Everyone ran but he had good sense to cover his children with his body on the floor. He was protecting his children. He was shot. His job fired him because he was injured and needed medical care. He had two jobs and got fired from both jobs. I think that is so uncaring. Thank God someone started a GoFundMe account for him asking for $23,000, but he received $100,000. So instead of him receiving encouragement from his job, he get fired. It's pitiful that society want the black man to fail. I pray for these black men. I pray that they keep turning to God and know that God hear our prayers. My father was a good husband and father. My mother was a good wife. My parents told their children that they loved us constantly. My father was a hardworking man. My parents loved the Lord and taught their 8 children the love of God. The father is very important in the family. My dad knew who his father was, but his father's parents were of mix race, white. His dad left one day and didn't come back. My dad knew his aunties, his dad's sister s, but they told him it was best he didn't go after his dad. It's kinda sad because he wanted to be with his dad. But he did not do that to his children. My dad told us he love us. We had family meetings where my parents encouraged us to speak our opinion about how they raise us. And sometimes they will consider what we thought and try it our way and many times it worked. All of my parent's children turned out to be God loving adults and we have good children.
