Special thanks to everyone who went on this long journey with us! It's so crazy to realize how scared Maul is of Palpatines plan. He orchestrated a whole war just to kill Anakin so that Vader won't get created. When he falls after the battle with Ahsoka and begs them to die, is so powerful and elevated to another level by Sam Witwer's terrific performance

When you read thru the comic, Son of Dathomir, it all wholly pieces together and actually makes even more brilliant sense. Yet another reason, among countless reasons, why they absolutely messed up NOT producing that gorgeous, dark and sinister masterpiece of an unproduced arc for the FINAL season! Still absolutely FLABBERGASTS me to this very day lol. Will never forgive them for that hehe.... >;(((

There are plenty of arcs I skip on a rewatch, but you need those early episodes the first time around to grow to love Rex and Ahsoka and the other characters, which means the big arcs that everyone loves will have more meaning and we care more.

I do agree, however, i do think there is a case to be made for an "essential" watchthrough for more casual viewers, beacuse getting through those early seasons can be tough, but also beacuse Clone Wars+Rebels is so essential for the live action shows nowadays. But as you say, you don't get that full appreciation of Rex and Ahsoka without watching it all.

As a more hardcore buff though, some of us like to follow the specifics of the war like how the war develops over the years. How non major planets (Ryloth, mandalore, Onderon, Kiros, saleucami, Rodia, Pantora) are impacted. The drain on the republic’s economy and abortive attempts at diplomacy leading to deregulation of the banks and further creation of clones. Later Palpatine taking control of the banks. Not to mention just every war arc depicting how the republic and separate fight. That’s “my juicy” when I think of the clone wars. I think of the domino squad episodes. Umbara. Geonosis. Saleucami. Ryloth. But my favorite genre of film and show is war. Band of brothers , pacific, fury. Saving private Ryan. 1917. We were soldiers. Black hawk down. List goes on. Maybe average viewers don’t find these things important or as interesting as Sith and Anakin/Obi wan ahsoka but all of the things I mentioned were what I cared about most.

You might be right, but I'm someone who first watched Clone Wars just before Season 7 released, and I followed a list of essential episodes that skipped 99% of the fluff. I also skipped the movie because I saw that in the cinema and I couldn't put myself through that again despite it being an essential But my point being that I grew to love the Clones, Ashoka and everyone all the same, despite watching only a couple episodes from season 1 and a couple arcs from season 2. It's possible I didn't have the same attachment as others, but I was shedding tears during this arc when it aired so I think it hooked me well enough

I would lie if I didn’t say I cried a few times while watching this video. Not only does it get me nostalgic about where my life was during this arc (the Covid era) but also for the clone wars and the prequel trilogy. This arc perfectly adds to and wraps up the clone wars series while also giving more background and character building for the Star Wars canon story as a whole. Everything in this arc is perfect, from Ashoka’s meeting with maul and the background music of Duel of the Faiths, to the interconnection to the prequel trilogy. Truly I believe this is some of the best Star Wars content to ever come out, and I get emotional watching you guys get to experience it for the first time. This ending to the arc and the justice that was done by the writers and Dave Filoni is what made me decide to keep pursuing a film career. The ability to garner so many emotions from the fans while also receiving praise for the magic that was brought to screen, the magic that George Lucas brought to us all those years and ago. Channels like yours give me such heavy emotional feelings, I hope one day I’ll be able to put out something that is loved and talked about and envokes emotion like this series did for me one day. Thank you Holden for this journey, and may the force be with you, always. PS. Take your time to take this series in and let it sit. But afterwards I do believe Rebels is also essential to Star Wars and particularly Dave Filonis vision. So many of the characters are also set up in this arc though it might go unnoticed to someone who hasn’t seen the show yet. I was late on rebels as my friends always described it as kidish. Though unlike clone wars I think it becomes essential viewing and less kiddish a lot earlier, about after season 1 and the story is also a lot more chronological. The great story telling from this arc and the care given is also felt in that series and I’d say for more of it. That is also high ranking Star Wars content I’d say even better than the Mandolirian, it also dives into the story of mandalore and the people more, so it would be best watched before mando season 3. That’s all from me Holden and Jen, love you guys!

Seasons one to three will always be maligned imo but that’s my opinion. I will always enjoy every episode tracking domino squad and Rex’s arcs. Clone cadets is still my favorite episode of the show and I cry every time watching it because of how much I related to each member and knew that they were probably all going to die. And we see that happen with the kamino episodes. Rookies, citadel. The whole saleucami episode with clones getting murdered in action and cut changing Rex’s mind on what it means serving in the war Ryloth: the compassion of two clones as they witness the cost of war and show their love for a little girl. Anakin tutoring ahsoka ❤ Hidden Enemy: the Jedi and republic did keep the clones enslaved as nigh on child soldiers. Hell yes, Karen Traviss. Geonosis: what a perfect arc The intro to Hondo Mortis The cad bane arcs were exciting at the time. Same with the boba one. I loved the western influences. Season 2 and 3with ahsoka dealing with visions , losing her lightsaber. Tera sinube Cloak of darkness and lair of grievous from season 1. What an epic duel between Fisto and grievous. And commander gree’s first episode Night sisters

I love Maul in this arc. The way he talks about Darth Sidious taking over the galaxy, and Anakin becoming his apprentice, if you didn't know, this makes him sound like a mad man. Ahsoka sure as heck thinks so. But WE know that he's telling the truth. We know what happens in Revenge of the Sith, so it's scary seeing everyone else not understand what Maul is talking about. It's amazing how we know what will happen, yet we're still at the edge of our seat

This is epic stuff!! The wonderfulness of this show is in it's expansion to the already established star wars canon as Holden said and I'm so happy y'all stuck with it until the end! I thank you for letting us experience that with you! I know y'all are watching rebels for Patreon. I would love that at the end of it you would make a compilation of highlights from you watching of rebels for those of us that can't afford to join Patreon.

Star Wars has always meant so much to me. Clone Wars especially as I grew up watching it. I was devastated when it was canceled and the tears wouldn't stop falling when I found out it was coming back. When the finale came out I was 17, the same age that ahsoka was in this arc. The conclusion of clone wars completed my childhood, which is why I have a never-ending respect for Dave Filoni and everybody who worked on this show. I love watching people discover this aspect of Star Wars. Loved watching you guys react to this, can't wait to see Rebels with ya'll.

For the love of everything, do Rebels. It's a lot more consistent and mature than the early seasons of Clone Wars, and has a lot of info for certain live action shows past and future. EDIT: 44:50 Rebels is definitely not as kiddish as rebel, or at the very least it for sure doesn't feel overdone, imo. Id rather watch the first season of Rebels than the first season of Clone Wars to give some perspective.

It's awesome to see how powerful in the force Ahsoka has become under Anakin's tutelage being one of three jedi to sense order 66. It's so heartbreaking to see Ahsoka have a hard time letting go of her lightsaber to sell her faked death because it's the only thing of her master she has left that was given to her knowing he can not be sensed with the force. In the Ahsoka novel she has tried many times to reach out to Anakin only to sense the dark side of the force not knowing he had fallen to become darth vader. It also adds to when we see her explaining to Mando in the Mandalorian season 2 episode 5 that she once knew a great jedi who fell to the dark side because of his attachments

I remember when this episode debuted, I saw something online and it was a picture of Vader holding Ahsoka’s lightsaber in the snow. The caption said something along the lines of, “Vader was very detached from everyone and he loved and showed no remorse for those around him. Vader would never go back to that wreckage to see that blue lightsaber…but Anakin…Anakin NEEDED to go to that wreckage.” Everytime I think of clone wars now, I think of this final episode and just the story of Anakin and his relation to Ahsoka. Clone Wars is something I got to grow up with and was the thing that actually introduced me to Star Wars. 21 year old junior in college and I’ve loved Star Wars since I was little. Thank y’all so much for letting me experience this for the first time again.

I would love to see this but not in live action. Do it in this animation style and you’ve got 19 years between ROTS and A New Hope to play with. They can adapt some of the incredible Vader comics and introduce Doctor Aphra, and we could get a lot more Boba Fett, Black Krrsantan, Cad Bane etc.

This is the best Star Wars story I've seen. It hurts every time, but it's so satisfying nonetheless. The characters' loyalties, the mistakes the characters make because of their biases, the amazing action scenes, and the level of care the production crew put into making it are beyond anything else.

Thank you both so much for sticking with The Clone Wars. It probably tried your patience at times but I hope you found the show well worth it. In real time, fans thought this arc (and season really) would be something we'd never see. The Netflix season felt like a compromised ending and Dave Filoni and crew worked on a WHOLE OTHER animated series after that. Going years between seasons 6 and 7 was brutal. I'm glad that's something new fans of this show won't have to experience. As you can tell this show is very special to me & it's been fun to relive through your videos. I hope you're liking Rebels and eventually The Bad Batch. Plenty more animated goodness to enjoy from a galaxy far, far away.

The best of Clone Wars right here, and Rebels continues a lot from that, but it's a different flavor and direction from Clone Wars. And if you want more Vader, you should watch cutscene/gameplay movie of Fallen Order, Maybe watch some Battlefront II dialogue (It has every character from the the three eras talking to each other) and a Order 66 compilation (it'll get outdated for sure, but it always great to see).
