Thank you for your honesty. Now we need you as a surgeon to begin to speak about reconstruction and the truth about breast implant illness and the risks of the two cancers associated with implants. We need more voices.

Dear Liz. We get it, and you get it because until we walk in someone elses shoes it really means very little. It's crucial that our treatment gives us a life worth living and there are many aspects of oncology care that are so important to patients. Thank you for all the research you've done and advice that you give that provides critcal support to so many.

I was on Tamoxifen for 5 years. Zero issues. Grateful.

I wish I could say the same. Every morning I wake up and I feel worse than I did the day before. I have ALL side effects including losing hair. This crap is not worth it to me.

@@same5952, I'm sorry. 😔 There are different generic tamoxifens... ask your Onco &/or pharmacy for a different one. It could help.

I have 4 more years of anastrozole. I had a brief time of hot flashes when I went through menopause in my mid fifties. I thought I would sail through the aromatase inhibitor. I was wrong! I can do this, but it isn't easy. Skin changes, hot flashes, and joint pain I will suffer through if it helps cancer from returning.

Same for me. One year in and the fatigue and skin changes and joint pain are difficult….but I don’t want it coming back so I endure.

May Almighty grant complete cure to all the silent sufferors and also grant absolute strength to overcome these tough times..! Stay strong and live life to the fullest

So far I’m only on letrozole and next month CKD. They wanted me to take prolia but after my sister experience and further research I’ve refused it and will do everything I can to maintain bone strength. I’m lucky to also have great naturopaths & Ayurvedic practitioners and hopefully all will work together to help me maintain my health. Both complementary practioners have healthy curiosity & respect for modern medicine. I’d love to see it reciprocated. My oncologist has been given a list of what I take and she has been open to it. 🙏

I just finished radiation 2 weeks ago. I know it’s time for me to start taking the AI. I’m so dreading it. I need a push to start taking them. I’m so tired of feeling bad . Thank you for your videos. Also Im so sorry you are having to go through so much yourself. You are something else! ❤

I refuse. It only gave me 2 percent. That’s not worth the uterine cancer risk at 2 percent. But you must do what’s right for you.

I totally get where you are coming from. I was very uncertain about taking Letrazole because I also have a low risk of reoccurrence. But as bad as the side effects are. For me it’s “just” joint pain my hands and knees. I feel like my bones have aged 15 years in 8 weeks. But when I think about the pain I will get if I get bone cancer, it gives me the courage to take this horrible tablet every day. I am willing to do what ever I can to reduce the risk on having cancer again. At the end of the day you have to choose what is right for you, please know there is a while community of breast cancer warriors who are there for you. Walking in your shoes, which ever one’s you choose. As Dr Liz says. Keep moving, exercise really does help with the body and the mind. 🥰

I’m so sad right now! I got one last chemo left then surgery then radiation but I thought I was going to be happy healthy and feel great because no more cancer but I will have to take this medication for so many years I can’t stop crying!

Don't cry, you don't have to take it, and believe me do research on the anastrozole first, than see how the clinical trials really I'm not geared towards individuality that's the s*** sure. You don't have to take it if they're telling you to take it see if there's an alternative and remember you could always eat the proper foods that lower estrogen. They told me I probably wouldn't even need a lumpectomy, after they delayed my original diagnosis 5mos before I even got the surgery and believe me they lie these mutidysfunctional team's and they make mistakes. Ask them how much longer do people live after they take anastrole as opposed to the placebo when you get that answer than research the clinical trials and see everything involved .

Really, who and where is this data. Long and healthy life. Naturally menopause is so damaging to a woman's body causing debilitating diseases sometimes. I really want to see how healthy these people are remember the only people that I've seen that are older than me that survive the ones who had chemotherapy. Most of these women that are taking it don't take it I admit more women telling me that they have to lie to their oncologist and tell them they're still taking it and they're oncologists tell me oh well everything looks great blood work yeah you see nothing on the blood work. Don't get me wrong it's not right of these women to do that and I tell them I said they're going around saying how wonderful the pill is because they're listening to you guys lie but they bully you and that's not right because they can't guarantee you you're going to survive they can't guarantee you anything but they do get a great kick back and you get great free meals. They don't even know that pit and thyroid glands are the master and most important glands that are responsible for our hormones.

Can you talk about the decline in cognitive function from anastrozole?

Could you talk to my male oncologist and tell him. He totally disregards my symptoms. So now I don't bother saying anything to him. I just smile and say I'm doing great.

I’m taking letrozole for estrogen, fed cancer. I had a hysterectomy in my 40s I’m 55 now I finish all my treatment and I feel very well eating good and exercising.

Religiously been following your reels since my recent diagnosis; thankful for your insights. I’ve spent big chunk of my life adjusting my diet and lifestyle to avoid cancer due to family history but here I am at 48; premenopausal diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. Can’t believe I get all clear in previous mammogram and get 24mm cancer cell growth in the next yearly routine mammogram. I don’t know where I went wrong. Actively brainstorming what could have triggered this.

Sadly interval cancers do happen. Cancers grow very slowly and they can suddenly seem to double overnight. You haven’t done anything wrong. We still don’t know exactly why it happens. The co-author of my book The Complete Guide to Breast Cancer was a vegan tee-total triathlete and she got breast cancer

Where you went wrong!? I would say the radiologists really screwed up and missed it because it's cancer that size is probably in your body a long long time and maybe covid activated it. But, pleas don't ever think you went wrong, bcz you can only control what you're reaching for environmental issues is killing us all but the lack of knowledge in our doctors we're not even wanting to learn. Please just focus on getting all clear margins and no distant metasis in the future. Good luck and research all that applies to your cancer. I would get a 2nd on that mammogram that said benign last year. See if you have dense breasts, and get that copy of interpretation and images.

There's no brainstorming your menopause and you're a woman and you're going to be 50 years old and until they for the money in the research and how to prevent it make sure you do all your research and let you know right now you did not go wrong you're a woman menopause that's all you need to know where hazardous to our cells

Me too Dr...joint pain, tired, menopause n etc..

But isn't it worse than normal menopause? I'm 41 taking tamoxifen. Menopause happens gradually and this is sudden. I'm only taking 10 mg now bc I became severely depressed and my personality disappeared. I hope I can gradually increase to 20 mgs. I'm starting an antidepressant tomorrow. Hopefully, that helps

Thank you for posting! I have tested positive for braca2 and palb2… one option was to take tamoxifen but I’m worried about the side effects… I have taken methotrexate for my ra and it made me sicker than a dog! Just can’t do that for five years so I’ve chosen bilateral mastectomy

I had a lumpectomy rt side with chemo and radiation in 2008. Was diagnosed with DCIS in March 2024. I was offered lumpectomy with radiation, but chose mastectomy left side since I burned terribly with last radiation. No positive nodes this time but oncologist recommended a hormone blocker for 5 yrs or she suggested a prophylactic right mastectomy. I chose the mastectomy which dramatically reduces my risks and no drugs. I will find less hassles with being flat I know already. So glad I was given that choice. 😊

Reduce risk? By a small percentage! I am 73 and did 4.5 years of anastrozole. I am stage lll with 19 bad lymph nodes removed. Double mastectomies and no chemo. I am done. I cannot do the side effects anymore.

Wuv ya lovely.. but I can only take my letrozole 80 percent compliant, it literally feels like death, i can hardly move.. and it's not spread, as they checked my bones and all areas.. wah, it's just severe pain that is obviously ageing and letrozole, add to that all the other heck I've survived.. :(

Talk to your oncologist to see if they can suggest something else

I tried them all but couldn’t tolerate them and stopped after three months. My oncologist told me my cancer would return because of this decision. Stage 3, estrogen positive with 5 positive lymph nodes. 7 years NED. I’ve been feeling like crap lately but hesitant to go to the doctor. Cancer sucks!

I am to start letrozole in a couple of weeks. All I keep hearing is about how horrible and awful it is. I am terrified of starting this drug. Any helpful comments would be appreciated appreciated.

You only hear people complaining, not those who don't find it a problem. Many women don't have a lot of side effects and they do settle in time

I feel like I'm always ovulating on tamoxifen. I havent had a period since taxol 2 years ago. But they tell me not to get pregnant. Oh the irony.

I have been with anastrazole for 1 month, due to not have health insurance. I starting getting my period and the doctor has no appointments until nov 15, Should I be worried. I’m willing to pay cash. The only side effect I had up until now was no period but now it has come back after 3 yrs

I’m sorry but I can’t offer medical advice but if you have new vaginal bleeding after the menopause then you should get it checked out

Anyone suffer with dryness

Side effects are real and I have ALL of them, including losing hair. I can't see myself staying on tamoxifen 4 more years. If I do, I will end up bald and in a wheelchair. Hopefully without a uterine cancer too, which is also a side effect of tamoxifen. I hate it when doctors and mfg say these are rare side effect. NO THEY ARE NOT! Just read up on it or listen to people like Dr. Liz here.

Is it ok if I quit to take the tamoxifen.

I took it for a month I felt like I was going to die. I stop after a month. That was 8 years ago.
