I’ve noticed many members of my generation are unable to properly hold a debate without going into immediate name calling or insults. Since so many people my age have spent time in echo chambers, be it online or in person, telling them their opinion is valid and never being challenged, they are unable to defend their beliefs when asked a simple question about why they feel the way they do.When their belief, their ideals that have been told for so long are valid with no critique are suddenly questioned, some members of my generation take it as a personal attack. Just because someone does not agree with your beliefs, that doesn’t automatically mean they hate your entire existence.

period! I stand by that 100%. I would also add that we need to bring back family values again. The destruction of the nuclear family needs to end, for that everything you mentioned must be fulfilled plus us women holding ourselves to a higher standard so we can hold men and society to a higher standard too (but it *has* to start with us). All of us should value and be able to have families if we want to, to have a society that is especially more inclusive of children, pregnant women, and mothers and to protect children's/female spaces.

I’m 14. I’ve had a phone for a bit over a year (I was one of the last in my class to get one) and I only use it in school during study halls and I literally have no homework (seriously, the homework load dropped by 50% from middle to to high school). Meanwhile, during class I don’t even want to look at my phone because what would I do on there? Nobody has anything to do in fact, it’s just getting a dopamine hit by opening Snapchat or Instagram and seeing something digital, clicking on an icon and seeing a picture. Then with Snapchat specifically it’s rude not to send back a picture of nothing when someone else has sent you a picture of nothing. At least with the students who try to game in class there’s something going on on their phone, but with the more social media-oriented kids like myself, there’s literally nothing to do but feed your addiction.

My daughter in college has sworn off social media except for the chat lists of her journalism school and her College church youth group. Exactly on the body issues. Kids have talked to me about why they don’t look like the tv people and I’ve explained they are fake that actress is actually 25-28 playing 16 so of course they don’t look alike.

I just recently watched a few episodes of The OC (which was on when I was in middle school) and it’s hilarious how old everyone is. Probably at least 25 playing hs kids. Nowadays younger people are playing the right ages but I don’t know if that’s even a good thing. I think about kids working on shows and what they get paid and how. It’s a very grown up “career” and they lose their childhood.

My husband and I went to Italy in September and when we were at a water park I was completely flabbergasted to see the type of bikini's that girls 16 or under are wearing now. I could see so many girls that were obviously under the age of 16, wearing thong bikini bottoms and it was just absolutely crazy. I turned to my husband and said about how it really upsets me that parents would see what their children are wearing and still allow them to leave the home dressed like that. I must have been close to my period because tears almost ran down my cheeks 😅. When I got home I spoke about it with my bestie and we were saying about how it's common now to see girls as young as 13 wearing shorts right up to their butt cheeks and crop tops. That it's literally a pedophile's dream rn that the clothes they want to see young girls in just so happens to be the trend.

I was definitely one of those people and still can’t go to school without at least some makeup, but deleting stuff like TikTok and Reddit has helped me IMMENSELY! I can’t believe that amount of valuable time I’ve wasting chasing other people’s opinions, and while it’s not perfect, I feel much happier now. The only app I have related so social media is KZread and even then KZread shorts gets me into guilty rabbit holes of useless content. Chasing trends gets you nowhere. Chasing other people’s opinions gets you nowhere. I currently have only one person I count as a true friend and I wouldn’t trade her company for anything. Find the people who make you feel whole, not just social media that’s digested and forgotten. Even though I’m only 15 and still have a long way to go with finding more about myself, im happy with the progress I’ve made to being more aware of my activity online. I graduated HS in 2013, teens dressed provocatively as well, but outside of school. My school of course banned all clothing that showed "skin" mainly for the girls. 10 years after I graduated, literally early this year before he graduated himself, my nephew told me how the school now let girls dress skimpy. Like cleavage showing, super tight bottoms, underwear in plain sight basically. Back then the girls look their age, now they look like 25 year olds. Shocking. Even cell phone wise, the kids are allowed to use them all the time. They used to never let us use our phones or pull them out, very rarely did a group activity call for it. Social media has always been the number one culprit. It has corrupted society and became a cancer to teens and mentally weak people. It also doesn't help when it's a huge doorway to those same type of people for celebrities and the liberal media to influence weak minds.

Well I'm from 2002, even though I didn’t have THAT pressure to grow up when I was a teen compared to nowadays (I would say the "grow up fast" mentality was starting), when I was about your age (≈13) I just wanted to grow up soooo bad but I couldn't because in the inside I didn’t feel like an adult, as I wasn't one in the first place. So whatever if someone says that you're being immature, to grow up fast and things like that, keep in mind that you grow up slowly so enjoy each moment of your life. Each moment will make you develop somehow and when you're a bit older, you will notice how you changed in the last years. So enjoy your early teen days, then your late teen days, then your 20s and so on. At the moment you're basically a kid, so be a kid, make memories (good and bad ones - in preference good ones of course) to feel like your teen days were worth it. Best luck for you 😊

right? and actually, shaving on its own is more unhygienic technically speaking so you have to take extra care because you are creating microtears in your skin that make way for bacteria to get in and for dead skin cells to clog your pores. Hair is there for a reason and it's to protect the regions where it grows, but either way is personal preference or beliefs and it's fine, not saying shaving is dirty. Just take extra care because you are potentially letting more ways in for bacteria.

Hormone therapy for children aside (which I also don’t agree on) which you seem to not agree on going by the tone of your comment, your first taking point is one that is used by predators to defend themsleves. All I’m saying is this wasn’t the topic or video to make this point on so I’m just letting you know if this wasn’t your intention. Because if you are trying to make a case that children were seen as adults back then, and then go on to talk about hormone therapy, Are you not also in a way defending children being able to get it at such a young age? Just providing some perspective. I think this what’s why you comment is being misunderstood by some.

As a 15 year old with a little sister, ive been saying this for YEARSSS. Everyday i regret giving her acess to the internet, specifically tiktok, because it changed the way she act and speaks. I mean she started using the word "sexy" from around the age of eight, when i knew my whole life how disgusting of a word it is. She would watch youtube channels where girls younger than 13 were wearing these short skirts, booty shorts, and tight clothing in general. And the obsession with makeup irked me even more because its such a fine line between doing it for fun and doing it for beauty. I hate how kids are dressing and acting like full grown adults. A great example of this is Dance Moms. Nothing can explain how much i hate that show. Its exploiting children in such a toxic environment and putting them such sexual acts. Kids should be kids, period. I dont want my elementary aged sister going around using heavy slang and derogatory words. I was born in 2009, so i always say that the year after i was born, everything went downhill because of the internet. I grew up with tetris and without cable(my parents are behind on technology), my sister grew up with youtube and roblox, and you can see the clear difference between us. My whole life ive been trying to shelter her from the wrong type of media, because i dont want her to grow up to fast like i did. Im sick of this. Kids should be kids. Young girl? You basically just reinforced everything she's pointing out here that is wrong in society. But yeah, for sure - the condescending, patronizing part is no doubt responsible for the growth and longevity of this attitude. We tippy toe all around and all over the place whistling Dixie because this toxic mess hardly affects boys at all, and certainly not in the same way. Other than the creeping hairy explosion of easy sleazy porn all over the net, boys through the tween years and even into early teens can still be big goofuses and young pups - and no pressure to fast-forward them to be a decade older than they are. So why the oh so selective gender fixation? That truly is the question of our time.

When I was trying to buy a "special dress" for my daughter's birthday when she turned 13 I saw I was stuck between two choices: either I could buy her a FLOWERGIRL DRESS or... a sexy homecoming skimpy dress!! I was like "what, does anybody make clothes for young girls anymore?" It's frustrating!! And I think this tendency to objectify young girls is one of the reasons many tweens experience panic to get to that point when they will HAVE TO wear the provocative outfits and hence, get harassed and objectified and so... they rather turn "non binary", or identify as a boy, that way they can escape what seems to be otherwise unavoidable. 😥

In 1990s my classmates wanted to look and act as they were 40 years old; now that we ARE 40, I wonder how they try hard to turn back at that 12s that they hated so much! In 1990s there was also this TV show everyone remembers: "Beverly Hills". I super-hated it just because all characters, that were supposed to be one or two years older like me, were instead in their 30s. The differences between me and my classmates, who were fast as rockets to reach those models, left marks that are still here today. Families and parents should take a look on what their sons an daughter watch, as they're never innocent and never innocuous. Not even some tasteless animated series of present day. Anime female characters are 99% made to be cute and sexy: Japanese culture love girly women, dressed as dolls and speaking in a precise childish way. An anime watcher must know this, especially if it's about an adult anime. Even in children friendly stories, characters must look cool, cute, all colors and full of emotions; all characters know each other's feeling and they've got an infinite energy supply, because their life is always at school. There's also lot of homework to do, but, like in "Beverly Hills", they never touch a book, they never study. It's a fairy and fictional world in which there are adventures and in which magic makes your ordinarly life full of extraordinary things. One must know this: those anime are made for common people who feel frustrated, who know their life will never be a part of something special or great. So that's why authors insist on some details and make them bigger and bigger. That's why there are funny hair colors in anime: green, blue, orange, tomato red. In Japan they're all black haired and, over all, there are strict rules in schools and offices; if you were natural green haired, you still could have issues with your school's rules. An easy and cute doll, who's also aware of adult matters, is the easiest form of fun.

Talking with a lot of my friends. We all had a similar experience of seeing an attractive girl that turned out to be 16. The more time that went on the more a lot of us realized just so many of the girls there were underage. There really wasn't anyway to discern the two. In high school i was friends with girls that were in these types of programs. These girls usually had a higher level of maturity than most other girls. So thats also a factor to take into consideration. I remember being in middle school and adults telling how crazy girls dress at that age. Now when i pick up my sister at her high school. I see obviously lower classman girls wearing clothes that resemble a street workers attire.

When we were kids we’d share goofy photos with friends or an over edited dramatic photo of something on the sidewalk because we thought Instagram made us photographers. I think all of this makeup and these dances and this push to be an “influencer” has made the young generation so focused on “what can I do to be popular online”. And even though it sounds mean to say, most of them are doing it without needing to care about contributing to society or doing something that actually requires talent. And I feel sorry for them because I think it’s stopping kids from just being kids and growing up thinking that they need skills, trades, etc. in life overall.

My car door handle, my steering wheel, my shifter, my seat belt; all pale. I was so embarrassed thinking how many people had been in my car and had seen that (it was very noticeable) so after work I took my makeup off and stopped using it. I only do my eyebrows and my eyelashes now for special occasions. My skin is thanking me though 😂 I hope that these people who wear makeup every day understand they are more beautiful without makeup on than with makeup! About the anime part I think it mainly depends on the genre. Like genres that are targeting younger audiences (like shoujo & shonen) tend to have female characters look and sound like children, meanwhile genres that target older audiences (like seinen & josei) rarely do that. Anime like Naruto and Sailor moon that most people think when anime is mentioned are mainly targeting young audiences and having female characters behave and look like children is very prominent. For example while Attack on titan is shonen it targets more mature audiences and the female characters are well written, then you have josei like Nana that also have well written female characters.

As I got a little older my mom would allow a few more things, but it was basically kid's makeup I bought at Claire's or Icing. When I was 14 I was allowed to properly start wearing makeup, but my mom took me to a makeup counter at the mall to have it done professionally and to teach me how. If I ever have a daughter I'll do a similar thing, because children don't understand the sexual messages they are sending and how predatory adults may take advantage of them. @@magikarp308I think both can be true… It can be true that girls who dress older and wear makeup are more likely to draw the attention of older men, out of which some might be predatory. It can also be true that girls who dress innocently would sometimes draw the attention of predators. Also, everyone is different, and some girls naturally look more mature at a younger age, which might have the same effect as wearing makeup and dressing older. But yeah, there are all sort of perverts out there, and some of them even like babies and toddlers in sexual ways, so nobody can be 100% safe 😑 I think the idea with not letting children dress provocatively, though, is that the pedos that like really young (and innocent) children are rarer than perverted men who simply don’t care about the age as long as the body is mature enough for sex. Thereby, if one is avoiding the more common danger, they’d be less likely to be targeted and victimized.

I've been waiting for a video like this for a long time. The proliferation of social media is something I've discussed with a lot of my friends recently, and all of us have agreed that it has little to no redeeming qualities. I strongly believe that a lot of the problems society are facing today were perpetuated in no small part by social media such as MeToo, OnlyFans, woke ideology and many more. Sure, you could argue that these examples would still be a thing even if social media was never introduced, but I think most can agree that it wouldn't have had the cult-like effect that ended up happening with younger generations. The overarching problem I find with social media is that it provides a platform for some of the most insufferable individuals on the planet to gain attention for doing outlandish things, who would easily be ignored had social media not existed. It's also caused people to have warped standards on what is considered normal, resulting in some of them feeling like they're not good enough because so many others feel the need to flex their achievements 24/7. Staying off social media permanently does help immensely on a individual level, but it is pretty much an "ignorance is bliss" kind of thing. If more people realised the ramifications that social media is having on society, that would honestly be incredible. It's just unfortunate that it will likely take a long time for society to wake up to this reality.

But nobody overshared a hell lot of their life how the kids are doing it now. I'm glad I was born in the 2000s, cuz nobody my age behaves like a people pleaser to strangers. I live currently and have always lived in the deep suburbs never being able to walk or go anywhere because I lived in a suburban neighborhood surrounded by highways which is a problem with urban planning. 2. Strict parenting. I don’t want to blame my parents because there is enormous pressure on them, and they aren’t that strict, but it has been proven in studies that parenting guides, peer pressure, etc. have been getting encouraging stricter parenting making which makes kids have less common sense, street smart, and independence.

Something I’ve noticed with anime is the rabbit hole of “well they look, act, and sound like a child but they’re actually 2000 years old so it’s okay so sexualize them”. It’s weird and creepy and I have a hard time believing any normal person is okay with sexualizing a character that is in every way a child except for the supposed age.

OMG thank you! … finally someone else has said it! Since the day my 14 yo ( at the time 11 ) started getting into anime, I was so grossed out by a lot of it .. and it just gets progressively worse, heavily promotes pedo. Also there are sooooo many sexual things that alot of people wouldn’t even notice, especially kids, it’s almost subliminal. Needless to say she has struggled with a ton of different issues since becoming interested in it. Body image being the number one issue.

When I was 12, 20-year-old adults tried to teach us some things. Now at 20 years old, it's our turn to try to teach something to younger people when we know that more and more parents will become irresponsible and these children will have to look for advice anywhere on the internet. Even in the end, even when it seems like everyone in the world has gone crazy, there will be sensible people, like you Misha and many others like us here in the coentaries. Our mission is to pass on what we know, cyclically. And in reality, teenagers are not getting older, but rather more promiscuous, because maturing means making our spirit stronger and more responsible. These young people are actually embracing these plastic and fake Hollywood fads that promote social transformation, even if it means looking horrible like these people who had the surgery at the end of the video. In the 90s people seemed older due to their posture and maturity compared to today, but they still maintained a bit of their childish innocence. The people of the future are those who lost their humanity and opened their spirit to the entire manifestation of the 7 sins. It is not common to see young adults on the internet who have not lost their natural beauty and innocence in acting and speaking, although they exist a lot in real life. Congratulations!

High school TV shows/movies, Kardashians and other celebrities; musically stars, teen mom, and so much more that destroyed kids and teenagers. It's really sad.

it will get much worse as these "social media" generations grow up, and become the people who make societies what they are. From what I've observed, being born in 67' and working in Information technology, is that social media, and the internet as a whole, came about rapidly & globally without any rules or guidelines. Primarily, that is an impossible thing to universally enforce in such a short time. And, now we are left with the result of all the 'freedom of expression" and technology we were given

I get where you are coming from with the animes. I still watch some, but avoid the weird ones. Also, I'm so glad you covered this topic! For years I've been wondering why children just can't be children. It is sickening.

I'm not sure it's gotten worse. When I was 11, I was getting approached by creepy grown men. I was an early bloomer and had to shop in the adult section. I definitely feel like I grew up fast because if you look older, people treat you older. I would have preferred to have looked younger. My son is a tween now and I'm around a lot of tweens. Girls are still dorky and dressing modestly. It's just the girls that are online and posting stuff that we notice. My son doesn't have a phone and most of his friends don't. Some don't even have an ipad yet.

I went to a friend's wedding & saw a girl wearing a skintight dress. Inevitably I was checking her out, only to find myself HORRIFIED when she turns around & I realize she was MAYBE 16 years old. (I'm in my 30s for context.) I seriously question whether these kids have parents bc NOBODY should allow a child to dress like a 25-year old IG thot.

I think calling a 16 year old an IG thot after checking her out and realizing oh she is not at a legal age for me to hit on is well disgusting now do i think that a 16 year old should wear that no but if you can not see how you are part of the problem is concerning .

@beverlysheldon2965 Did I call HER an IG thot or did I say she was dressed like one? And I was horrified bc she was dressed quite provocatively despite the fact she is a child. Had she been an adult, I'd still have judged her for dressing inappropriately for a wedding but I wouldn't have been horrified bc she would be an adult entitled to make her own choices. Also, PLEASE miss me with the "men who look at scantily clad women are part of the problem" nonsense. There's a reason why female modesty was/is encouraged by all Abrahamic faiths & that's bc it's a man's nature to look when women flaunt it. To argue it's a man's fault for looking makes me think you've got a double digit IQ.

back then, i did not understand what my mom meant with "youth is a very short thing, and adulthood is a long and painful time. Try to appreciate and enjoy your adolescence". I missed a good chunk of my youth thanks to depression and feeling everything like a grey mass of nothingness, and her words make sense now in my head. At my current 25 years old, i'm not a broken mess, thankfully, i'm a rather functioning member of society, but i still feel i have not experienced a lot of things, feels like a missing piece inside of me. I can see many of those now kids, then future adults, feeling something similar to what i feel, if they haven't got hit with the hammer of wisdom.
