If the idea is to cut the opponents knife hand I can see this working, only if the opponent is using the same style. Possible a dueling scenario rather than battle.

The defensive stance seems very similar to Kali Arnis Eskrima

His advantage is low energydrain and a quick wrist-shouldermouvement with relatively long reach and thee option to protect thee own body by blocking an attack like the snakestyle in Kung-Fu does that he obviously many parts of in his fighting-style.

I heard it’s cause the people that are masters at it don’t teach outside Italy. I think it had to do with them fearing people would cheapen the martial art like this. What you’re saying about this is like judging the skill of samurai by some guy with a katana on KZread

Actually the sicilian knifefighting tradition has some of the most potent and effective stiles of knifefighting/duelling that I have ever tried. Far more nimble and faster than most philipino stiles. But this is non of them. Search for the Santamaria style and you will see what I mean.
