They knew no one was that intrested so its better to draw its good too,,, but pragg show some courage to play sincere

I'm vaguely upset by this. Just in December Alireza was playing every tournament he could to get into the Candidates, leapfrogging over otherwise potential WC challengers like So and Giri. Finally he gets there and, in this video, within a few minutes he's waving down an arbiter to confirm his quick draw. I'm sure most players would do the same in the final round of a tournament they couldn't win, but it was nice to see Pragg win his game in the same situation.

Pragg had to fight, because his opponent was lower rated, and draw meant losing rating points. Here both players were similar rated and draw didnt hurt anybody

Pragg had to fight bcz his opponent of that day, Nijat said that his goal is to win at least one match and this is last chance for him and losing match would be bad for anyone so Pragg played. With better player, probably he too would have gone for easy draw.

I m happy that I supported Gukesh and he won.... But respect for Vidit ❤

I like that even when Vidit knew he did not win the candidates he did not stop the meditation pose

Its called "en passant". You can capture en passant when your pawn is one square deep into your opponent's half of the board, and they move their pawn two squares from its starting square such that it lands directly next to yours.

If you are asking about why not Knight takes then it's because you can alter the move order in the Berlin Draw here, it doesn't really matter to the outcome of the game which is inevitably, a dead draw

@@claudiog7692 I think it was a mutual understanding during the game. There’s no evidence that it was “pre-arranged”. The arbiter then looked at the moves and deemed it to affect the integrity of the game and tournament. Vidit vs alireza was basically the same thing, they went down a drawn line but didn’t make it blatantly obvious.

It was the last round in a very long tournament so the players are very tired, and also both of them had no incentive to win as they were 6th and 7th in the standings respectively.

Actually they did have incentive as every 0.5 point means 3000$ worth money awarded. But probably the tiredness of 13 matches made them go for a draw rather than go for a win.
