Do you have to stay in another hotel to quarantine then only move to Shore after?

As long as you stay in a SHA plus+ confirmed hotel you’re good. Quarantine in the room was only until you get your covid test result which we got at around 9pm that same night we arrived. The Shore is a SHA PLUS+ hotel So you can go straight there from the airport if you like. The only reason why we stayed in another hotel is because we were supposed to meet with another couple who’s staying in that hotel. But this was months ago when they started the Phuket Sandbox. We have to stay in Phuket for full 14 days before you can travel to the other islands. I’m sure they already made changes. Just check the current rules. Hope that helps.

How easy was it to get transportation into the town of Kata?

There’s few options you can do while you’re there. The hotel can provide ride to wherever you want to go or there was always a person with his van parked outside of the hotel that also offers ride for a fee. The fee depends on where you want to go. I’m sure there are other portions such is public transportation and Uber/lift. We didn’t do any of those. I think renting a car is a way to go especially if you want to go places and that’s what we did on the 3rd to use for the remainder of our stay in Phuket. Car rental fee is very reasonable. We paid the hotel transportation to take us to the airport to pick up the rental car. Hope that helps.

We paid a little over $300/night as part of their sandbox promotion at the time. Originally I think it’s like $600/night.
