The Shooting Show - first pheasant shoot of the season
Фильм және анимация
We join Rob Tilbury in Somerset as his local pheasant and partridge shoot gets under way for 2014-15. They don't start shooting until the last weekend of October so this is hot-off-the-camera footage - we just couldn't resist bringing it to you as quickly as possible. Even better, it's a bumper package that follows the day in the life of a shoot, from picking the pegs to picking up the birds - with plenty of shooting action in between.

Hey, big white hunter!! have you ever thought of giving up hunting and shooting and becoming an anti? if not, stop 'knocking' others!

It was more a wry comment on the stupidity of the law in England where you can stand firing as much lead in the air at pheasants as you want but if you stand in the same place and fire lead at a duck you have broken the law.

Now, I am with you on the issue of lead for pheasant only but not for inland wildfowl in England; I have even written to DEFRA about this (and got a reply!) who apparently have the mandate on lead issues in shooting, but they couldn't provide any evidence of our English countryside, lakes, rivers being littered with dead or dying ducks from lead poisoning which, if the antis 'so called' evidence is to be believed, should be the case?
this good i like this
Ok not many birds but it looked injoyable day!
Really good episode. Too much noise from the beaters for my liking though. If I'm stood in the line of guns I'm expecting birds to fly over me so no need for all the shouting telling me there's a bird coming "forward" or "over"

chris1231399 Thanks & fair comment Chris. If I'm the other side of the wood, sometimes it's useful to get the 'heads-up' a birds coming over though.
