You forgot about winter:D You'd freeze with all of those here in Finland!
When I saw those driving loafers... WHAT ARE THOSE!!!

+aellington62 They looked like a house slipper to me. They don't look like they should be worn out of the house.
I don't know why but I really don't like chukkas I just don't think the silhouette is flattering. It's asking too much to be hipster for me. Haha half joking on that one. But I would much rather go with a Chelsea boot or a work boot in it's place
Not sure I agree the driving moc looks smart
People asking about brands: Driving shoes are Tods, the trainers are Boss, for the rest go to Church's. Handmade in Northampton (5 mins away from my front door), they will genuinely last for 20+ years if you take good care of them and resolve them regularly.
cheers, great advice!
Excellent info!
Great :)! good collection for a man. I love it. I love shoes.
Dare I recommend brown double monk straps over brogues? They go great with jeans and are perfect with a grey suit.

Fernando Herrera double monk straps in any color are very attractive!
What are those oxford wingtips??
Okay, they are certainly in the shoe closet, but one wonders about the penny loafer, sperry top sider, goretex hiker, flip flop, and western boot to mention a few others...

Yes kind off agre. Buy brown shoes, you can not have to many. But beach and hiking stuff in the wood you need as well, not soo often but they are on the scale I think.
For the outdoors I'd definitely recommend a good pair of Waterproof Mid Hiking Boots. Ahnu and Lowa make good ones. I'd also recommend a pair of Converse All-Star Lows for a cheap weight training shoe and a pair of Brooks or Asics for running.

+sharpnickelz What about a pair of sturdy boots. I have owned Lowa but those are really for heavy walking. I mean like winterish conditions and still wanna look sharp.
What are the brands of these shoes?
most of my shoes are open toed. Because i never caught mortishans toe, and my big toe is longer than my second toe as it should be. However this causes a problem as all shoes insist on being a triangle at the front. What really made me stop putting up with painful shoes as much … was one really painful pair of abbygaleShoes that really didn't fit me. I even said so in the shop.....But it was 2002 i was a kid n they still boughtem
Driving loafer are ugly! Penny Loafer, man.

I went to Clarks for some Penny Loafers, but they tried to charge me like £65 and all I had on me were a couple of coppers. Talk about false advertizing.

Pretty good video, but! Those black trainers are so damn disgusting.

+Stanislas Her Lol..... they are the classic style or so. Yeah sure not so good for many streetwear. But they are stylish, for real. They just are more mature and for older guy. lol

it's an ad for Selfridges, advertising the different types of shoe they sell
what kind of chukkas are those. theyre nice
Thank you Justin of the shoe snob you are a wizard❗️🍎 I appreciate your videos look looking good GREAT you are a star bless you thank you
1:11 "How can you get more versatile than that?" precedes to talk about how the chukka boot is the most versatile shoe.
@tjjohnson1892

Nah man, he then went on to say that the chukka is the "most versatile boot" (as opposed to like Doc Martens, Iron Rangers, etc) where the brogue is the most "versatile piece of footwear." I thought the same thing at first though.

boot vs shoe
Very off topic, but does living in London lens itself to picking up a sort of mix of American, British accent?
Driving loafers are quite ESSEX
What the hell use are chukkas? I got a pair of Clark's Desert Boots from a neighbor. They feel like they're liable to fall off my feet at any moment. What does a man go hunting or fishing in? What pair do you wear when you go to the beach? What pair do you wear when you're changing the brake pads on your car? My list of necessary shoes are thus: 1. As good a quality work/outdoors boot as you can afford. 2. A pair of brown brogues 3. A pair of black dress shoes4. A pair of penny loafers (mine are burgundy)5. A pair of Chuck Taylors or equivalent trainersThe loafers can be popped on or off while at the beach, chucks/trainers can take exercise/sports. Black dress shoes for formal stuff. Brown brogues for going to a nicer venue. The boots for outdoors/work/miscellaneous. I stopped this at five because that was the limit the video set. I very much believe though in sandals and house slippers. A worn out pair of penny loafers works wonderfully as house shoes. With all my shoes except the athletic ones, I only buy REAL leather. Period. If the shoes are real leather, you can keep the bastards working for you for years. Also, as I mentioned with the boots, you buy the best quality that you can afford. I saw a post on here where a guy was talking about his job as a custodian and someone was telling him not to worry about nice shoes. That's bullshit. Buy a pair of shoes that makes you happy and that you can spend the time on. Then, after a while, buy another while maintaining what you've already got. Slow and steady.
i agree with a few other people here. scrap the driving mocs and go for slip-on loafers or monks. white or neutral colored sneakers. i prefer Chelsea boots. i'd replace the oxfords with a wholecut and consider something a little more interesting than the chosen brogues.
So, which one do you wear in the snow?
@ghcheong

A pair of leather chukka boots would work well in light snow . I would personally wear a tall button boot for heavier snow .

Gin Hao Cheong galoscher over your oxfords, or derbys. You wellcome

Well, galoshes have a tendency to slip big time . A few years back while I was in Korea, I nearly fell down a flight of stairs wearing galoshes.
Is a driving loafer the same as a boat shoe?
@Myrslokstok
9 жыл бұрын
Not at all. Driving shoes you see cool guys in. Boot shoes you little brother or uncle have at the marina.
You must expand your vision
double monk anytime
Where are the black Cap-toe-dress-boots and the Chelsea Boots?
Think he is kind off spott on and now his stuff but I would go for a mor retro loking sneaker in brown lether. Driving shoe ues kind off sporty but probably more a brown lofer would work better for me. Then a pair of mountain winter boots and sandals for the beach and you are all to go.
I would trade out that chukka boot for some Double monks or some dressy boots with lug soles
Idk how i could ever afford that on a custodian salary

Mukhtar Mahmood idk anything about shoes. i get my stuff at payless but i would love to have some good quality shoes. i prefer work boots as an everyday shoe but some nice clean dress shoes to wear with slacks sounds nice too.

don't go dress shoes' route until you are an office worker. You cant walk around shopping or work at walmart with that. Find sales on some nikes, if not, go to kohls and get some shoes that can be worn on jeans. Those shoes in the video are too silent for me.
@nameless5r

Mukhtar Mahmood thanks for the advice but i hate nikes. i think its the biggest waste of money. i used to sell shoes at sport chalet and we sold nikes the most but they were the sh*ttiest when it came to quality. i wouldnt be walking around on dress shoes on a daily basis. id use them to go out dancing or to dinner with my wife but alas....i must make my mortgage a priority.

+Desi guy Man I appreciate your advice but those are streetwear and fashion wear. Nike/Adidas Sneakers. they are casual and epic, modern. young guy's shoe typically. But Leather and brown/wheat/black is Office/Formal/Smart man's shoe.
he forgot rugged outdoors stuff
Hmm, not sure you're being your true self with this selection Mr, shoe snob
I prefer monk straps over brogues....brogues just reminds me of my grandfather.
id swap the chuka for a pair of leather country boots ,, and bin the trainers ,,,, but a fair choice
Oxfords: Great Brogues: Fantastic Chukkas: Awesome Sneakers: Gross. White sneakers are much better. Driving Mocs: Trash. Slip-on loafers or monks in burgundy instead.

Black with white detailing is better. Pure white looks like you just came from the squash court and were too lazy to change shoes.
@ZainxIqbal

Abaddon Interitus white is the most versatile color. Go look at any outfit with black sneakers, and I can guarantee white would fit just as well if not better.

im a guy and i dont any of those boots
Doesn't matter which shoes men wear...they all get filled with feet odor anyway
Chelseas over Chukkas for me although that’s just personal preference. If you spend more time out of the city, Chelseas or a pair of country brogue boots will provide more utility.
@Tommy_ZM

Chelsea’s are literally for girls. I know we’re more liberal as a country but last time I checked I’m still a dude so hopefully any guy who reads this doesn’t make the same mistake the poster did
I think a man also needs a sandall. None of the above make for appropriate beachwear.

@gamersuic

this is super old, but I'm not a big fan of the sand rubbing around in my boat shoes. A proper open sandal is better for beach walking
I think most men would have more than this😅
uh no
Atleast thrown some white or something
I must disagree. Dress shoe, penny loafer (you could get away with a boat shoe), trainers, house shoe, and (cant believe he missed) sandals/flip flops/slides. Also he says the second pair of shoes are the "'most' versatile" then immediately turns around and makes the same comment for the next shoe?
@max04ism

He said the chukkas are the most versatile BOOT, and the brogue the most versatile.
