One problem in the opening scene that purports to be a scene from the 1941 June attack on the USSR by the goosesteppers. The tanks are all Tiger I, type that didn't exist till much later in the war. They should be Panzer 3 and 4 types. The Panzer 6 (Tiger) wasn't seen in Russia until September 1942 in Leningrad

Δύσκολο να το παρακολουθήσω έργο. Μπερδεμένη και ακατανόητη πλοκή. Όμως καταλαβαίνω ότι θέλουν να δείξουν ότι οι Σοβιετικοί γνώριζαν την έναρξη της επιχείρησης Barbarossa και τις πραγματικές προθέσεις της Γερμανίας μέσω της δράσης των κατασκόπων τους. Σε αυτήν την περίπτωση γιατί φάνηκαν τόσο στρατιωτικά απροετοίμαστοι τα δύο πρώτα χρόνια του πολέμου; Δύο εκδοχές: Ή ήταν τεχνολογικά πολύ υπεδεέστεροι και επιχειρησιακά ανίκανοι ή τους έπιασαν στον ύπνο. Γιατί την τρίτη εκδοχή (να υπήρχαν προδότες στη Σοβιετική διοίκηση) δεν θέλω ούτε να την σκέφτομαι

Do you know where I could watch Podziemny front with English/Russian subtitles? I've been searching for it anywhere. There's a great website 35mm, but unfortunately not all Polish films are available there. Another film I'm looking for is Miasto nieujarzmione (1950). Would appreciate if you could suggest any resources where Polish films are available with subtitles.

Europe looking beautifully grim but a little hard to follow the plot via the subtitles. Who else is a spy other than the lead character?

That's amazing ! They were shipwrecked in their little sailing boat and on the beach were washed ashore there just happened landed was a BMW motorcycle waiting for them to get on and start straight away with one kick on the kickstart and ride off on !! Or were they carrying the BMW motorcycle under the floor boards of their small boat ?

Weiss and Heinrich arrived ashore on a motorcycle, went on a short one-day trip on a yacht and accidentally got caught in a storm. The motorcycle was waiting for them on the shore. Are you not surprised that in this film all the Germans speak Russian, not English?

@@Sam_Green____4114 Heinrich and Johann live in Riga and do not need to immigrate to Russia, Latvia is already annexed to the USSR. On the contrary, they both seek to repatriate to Germany as ethnic Germans (Volksdeutsche).

Many of Volksdeutsche from the Baltic states migrated to Germany completely legally before war, this is shown in the movie (17:57 - 20:15). The USSR did not hold them, and Germany needed workers and soldiers. This is what Weiss needed to infiltrate to Germany without unnecessary risk and begin acting there as a spy. I don't know if there is an English translation of the Kozhevnikov's novel, all these details are described much more clearly there.
