    I feel there's one thing that's overlooked about the brilliant plan of sealing Gojo: They incorporated the good guy having a flashback as part of their plan! Usually when this happens or a character has an internal monologue, everyone watching is like "This is taking way too long. Why hasn't anyone moved yet? Don't tell me this is all happening in real time." The flashback counted toward the sealing time. They used the interruption of a flashback as part of the plot!

    Bruh you didn't give Nobara NEARLY enough credit this arc. Yeah at first she was just used to hype up Nanami but there's a reason for that. When she's facing off against Mahito's clone you're scared for her. She didn't have a good showing before so the reader goes into this fight expecting the worst. Only for Nobara to give us literally the greatest moment of HOPE in the entire arc when she lands the hit. You CANNOT understate just how hype that moment was reading Shibuya for the first time. The smile on Yuuji's face made it feel like maybe everything was going to be alright afterall. And then, yes, she dies. But you see how much more devastating the moment is when you line it all up like that? It's not like she just showed up to get bodied. Which is why I'm also not convinced she's really dead. I'm thinking that she's going to finally tap into the "core of cursed energy" in that death state and learn reversed cursed technique. I'm reading every chapter of JJK just waiting for her to pop out of the box.

    I think every manga reader has said it at this point but I’ll say it again,SHIBUYA ARC IS NUTS! I think that's the thing. The series was only "generic" because it needed to establish stakes. I mean, it "killed" off it's main character very early on because it wasn't sure whether it would continue serialisation, established the other students so that when this arc came about we would actually care about them. Without the tourney arc and the rebuilding of the trio's bond in the following two (Because, well, he spent half of season 1 being thought of as dead.) the Shibuya arc wouldn't have had any impact. It was just the fact it kept going; with each false end killing or brutally maiming more characters that ultimately leads into the more bleak and generally much more serious following arcs.

Infact, Yuji's character arc from naïve protagonist with no obvious flaws other then a complete lack of self worth, to a man completely struggling with his morality despite being no less a good character is fascinating to me. Plus you really get the sensation on just how much these characters have lost; be it friends, limbs, mentors or even innocence. Sure, the gas wasn't at 100% the entire time, but it was the steady build up and stability that kinda made this arc really shine.

    I feel like Choso should have at least been mentioned in the video. His psyche has been pretty much shattered by a false memory. He has been known to be very caring for his brothers, and was shown is grief after Itadori killed two of them. So once Itadori, the killer of his family, suddenly appeard in his mind as another brother of his, Choso had no idea how to react. So he stopped thinking about it and accepted the fact that him and Itaodri are in fact siblings. Because that mindset gave him a reason to fight and be alive. I love the panel with him trembling at the stairs mumbling "Yuji Itadori...what are you?".

"Idatori can manipulate memories" and Todo's case would then be red herrings to throw us away from Kenjaku's influence. That aspect is still a mystery and I'm looking forward to learning more about it.

    I think the biggest issue in this analysis is giving Mahito too much credit. You mentioned how Mahito was right about Yuji being like him and such, but I don't think Mahito is right at all. Multiple times, it's referenced how Mahito's view on the soul is limited, flawed, or outright wrong, and I think this holds true for all his half-baked sophistry. The thing about Mahito is that he has no real purpose. He's a Curse, and his only goal is to do what Curses are supposedly born to do: kill and inflict suffering. Contrast this with Jogo and Hanami, who both have well-formed, if flawed beliefs on the dichotomy between humans and Curses. Mahito doesn't really believe in anything, and if you have to make a comparison to Yuji, I'd say it's that both of them use a hollow ideology to hide behind. For Yuji, his ideal of saving people distracts him from his desire to live and for his life to have worth. For Mahito, he cloaks his demented, childish desire to hurt others in something resembling the philosophies that Jogo and Hanami have. And you can see this clearly in how Mahito dies versus how Jogo dies. Jogo dies facing an opponent he can't win, knowing he'll die, because he won't give up on his ideals even if it kills him. Once things stop going Mahito's way and he realizes he can't just use Yuji as a plaything anymore, he does what he always does: he runs like a coward. And so, Mahito died as he lived, accomplishing nothing. He is nihilism given physical form. He believes in nothing, cherishes nothing, and lives for nothing but his own whims and fancies, and he dies with a pitiful whimper having left nothing of substance behind. Jogo at least earned Sukuna's respect on some small level. Mahito just died as a disgraceful, scurrying pest.

    Ur saying this as if there is an objective answer to Mahito and Yujis conflicting arguments but that’s the whole point. That there is no real answer. This makes Mahito all the more interesting as he presents himself as someone who’s objective in his beliefs. Mahito views all life as equally meaningless. His supposed objective viewpoint stems from his thought process of his ideology being that of a natural one. One that isn’t obscured by bias or the “human dignity gained by human reason” as Mahitos puts it. But he doesn’t even realize his own contradictions. He views all life as meaningless and therefore can do what he wants with the lives of others. But doing “x” because of “y” is a contradiction to nihilism itself. He’s giving himself moral justification when a true nihlist doesn’t need that. Adding a layer of hypocrisy to his character in which now both Yuji and mahito are hypocritical in their beliefs, fleshing out the morally relativistic nature of life and the jjk world. His death as you also mentioned is representative of his natural view of life that I mentioned earlier. Mahito is depicted as a rabbit being hunted by Yuji depicted as a wolf. Both the rabbit and the wolf live by kill or be killed as that’s the natural order of the world. But now the roles are flipped on Mahito as he is now the one being hunted according to the natural order of the world that he preached

    While I personally hate Mahito, I think you’re exaggerating his childishness and lack of polished philosophy. In truth, Mahito is a foul to yuji the same way Sukuna is. The conflict of the instinct of a curse vs the so called dignity granted by human reason. Mahito is best represented not by nihilism, the lack of meaning or purpose, but absurdism, in his lack of needing or desiring one. Mahito is the darkest parts of us reflected, and despite his power people forget he is still mostly a child. He was not born until a very long time after the other disaster curses. He has no true end mission or any one goal he wants to accomplish over all others, and that’s because he by virtue of his existence was absurd and truly did not have a purpose other than the base instinct of a curse fed by the fear and hate humanity has for itself. Both hanami and Jogos Philosophies are equally as influenced by their nature as his was by his nature. The other disaster curses were more mature but Mahito is explosive in his power growth and disregarding the nonsense you’re mentioning, is the only character we’ve seen actually find their truest form. We don’t even see Gojo having as strong of an understanding of who he fundamentally was. Mahito saw his soul and understood it and himself in a way that made it clear from the beginning he had no real preordained purpose, and no reason to want one. He existed with his curse instinct naturallc therefore, his actions are justified. It was human hate and fear that made him. What two emotions have been used the most to incite brutality ? Fear, and hate. His instincts were of the most disinterested, detached kind. He found his true self because he didn’t Try to find some complex philosophy. By simply existing listening to his instincts, he fulfilled the only purpose he cared claim, to be a curse. Mahito is simply an evil being who does evil things and there will never be a reason why other than that’s who he is and he knows it. As simple as it is, Simplicity does nothing to negate the power of knowledges. M

    I think the criticism for Nobara's utilization in the arc is fair but I have the feeling that Akutami purposefully sidelined her for the sake of her character development. I think we can all agree that she's definitely not dead. So I think upon reflection of her performance in the arc (struggling against Haruta, only for Nanami to come in and completely body him, and then going in anyways, against Nanami's advice, only to get crticially injured like Nanami predicted would happen), that's going to motivate her to continue fighting to get stronger and to keep up with Megumi and Itadori. One of her main defining traits is how much she cares about the people around her despite sometimes trying to hide it, so I think once she hears what Itadori went through (accidentally massacring Shibuya) and that a hit has been placed on him, that's also going to motivate her to continue getting stronger. I guess my point is that I think Shibuya is going to be the main starting point of Nobara's development through the rest of the series

    yeah i mean i am pretty new to anime and manga and stuff tbh but this is the best arc of anything i have read so far. like i thought the ending of demon slayer was pretty brutal... shibuya is like only halfway through the jjk story, maybe even earlier, and it’s more brutal than the finale of demon slayer. it gives you so much hope just to crush it. you think “oh well they’re gonna get gojo back” but they don’t. you think “nooo nanami died maybe mahito will finally be killed then” but no. you think “they wouldn’t kill kugisaki” and then you witness her eye fly out. you think todo and yuji will finally end mahito but no, todo loses his hand and mahito evolves or whatever. maki gets permanent burns, inumaki loses his arm, so many innocent people die. and to top it all off, kenjaku just straight up wins. there’s no positive outcome to the entire thing, it’s just so dreadful and torturous with no relent, and i haven’t really experienced an arc like this before.

    If u think abt it, Nobara has been the only person whom Yuji has been able to open up and process his grief with. In season 1, he experienced all this grief but was nvr given proper time to process and deal with it. He was going down a dark path until the fight with Eso and Kechizu, when Nobara helped console him and gave him a nudge in the right direction. Which she also does in Shibuya with her assist against Mahito. She's the anchor for both Megumi and Yuji, who are idealistic ppl; Nobara gives them the facts and keeps them grounded whenever the two of them were getting way into their heads. And now without her, you can see both Yuji and Megumi's slow decline in mental health as the ideals they carry get more twisted and warped

    She’s the soul of the group for a reason. And we are experiencing what is like without a soul. Yuji is the body and Megumi is the mind. Without a soul a person can’t find a heart meaning in life. That’s why I’m convinced she’s not dead. Her finding the core of curse energy and trying to keep up with Yuji and Megumi to be stronger. Is a sign of her true purpose

    Nobara my not have been important but she for sure brought value to the story, just like Nanami, she is an example that the JJK is not a kind one. Her backstory and connect to Sasori was wonderful and the bittersweeness of seeing Sasori in a dead end job thinking she’d disappoint nobara and as the reader knowing that that wouldn’t matter to Nobara. Like yea she’s not the literal vessel to a demon going through an existential crisis but she’s important to the story none the less, that why when she is fatally injured it hurts so bad. If I was a simple “let’s kill the lady character for the main character to get mad about” thing I’d agree but it definitely ain’t that

    I rushed through it, so to me, it felt rushed (edit: I mean this as lampoon on how anime/manga fans consume series, not an objective statement about the arc) After taking another look, I can start to put together an idea of what it would have been like to consume weekly and think about actively during that time. I still don't understand it at all, I feel like. Even though I understand most/all of what you guys explained in this video.

    I would also like to see maki dominate an entire district in the culling games. shes just as strong as toji and will probably grow stronger. btw toji reminds me, he was the one who broke the cycle of the star plasma vessel, so in theory he is the most significant member of kenjaku's plan. also it's ironic that kenjaku is in the body of geto, who hated 'monkeys' like toji yet he needed toji in order to complete his plans

    Apparently everyone in the world has harutos cursed technique lol. All jokes aside great video but I just want to point out that harutos CT ability is something to do with luck while in reality the reason nobara couldn’t move so well after a single hit was because she was punched very hard in the jaw. Being punched in the jaw irl would also have you like nobara was here. Brain rattled.

    As a fan who got introduced via anime only, social media/KZread made damn sure this arc didn't come out of no where. It was literally being shouted out about, that without staying off of KZread or wholesale hiding channels from my newsfeed, there was no way for me to remain unspoiled. Nothing towards you about that, but just so fucking frustrating. The first half of the mechamaru/mahito airs, then on KZread "why didn't mechamaru reach their full potential" oh okay, this guy is dying next episode and I'm just waiting to see it happen

  • @realtruth1448

    @realtruth1448

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hakari can spam immortality, so he’s definitely capable of reaching Gojo’s level Yuta can copy CT’s... he’s capable of reaching gojo’s level as well Megumi has the 10 shadows technique, and gojo stated a 10 shadow user & a limitless user with 6 eyes both killed themselves in battle, So Megumi can reach gojo’s level Now the last person gojo mentioned reaching his level was yuji.... but I don’t see how that’s possible... the story has it to where yuji would just be a weaker version of sukuna, since the majority of yuji’s power comes from sukuna and gojo stated yuji would get sukuna’s CT So in order for things to make sense 1. Sukuna is just way stronger than gojo, so much stronger than yuji being an inferior version of sukuna can riviera gojo 2. Yuji gets an op CE ability, stacked with Sukuna’s CT which allows him to reach gojo level Remember Gojo never said anyone would surpass him He stated Hakari, Yuta, Megumi & Yuji have the potential to reach his level My theory on yuji is that he’s going to master Black flash, this would make yuji stand out from everyone else, since nobody else has mast black flash, and as we saw black flash can increase your body to 120% so imagine if with black flash mastery your whole entire body is at 250%, look at what 15 finger 120% black flash did to mahito, gave him a serious wound, now imagine that doubled plus 10% more with someone like divergent fist so there’s double impact... now that’s absolutely busted and an attack like that would definitely be on the level of the likes of Hakari/yuta

  • @realtruth1448

    @realtruth1448

    I’m pretty sure distorting space could allow anyone to touch gojo, so if you were to hit gojo with a black flash, or a distorted space CT, you could indeed touch gojo, because gojo is just distorting space to keep you from physically reaching him, but you can fight fire with fire
