As a soldier, I must say that sharpener is a life saver, time saver and easly stored.
Had mine for a couple of years now. I've not bothered with my more expensive sharpeners since I got it. Absolutely love it and can get my knives super-sharp in no time, anytime, anywhere. Nice review.
Great review! I just got mine a few weeks ago. It shapened right away, but not as sharp as i wanted. I had to learn how to optimize it's use. That was easy because I started using it on every knife we own several times a day. Oh man are the knives nuclear sharp now. I'm sad because there's nothing left to sharpen. My machetes, axes, butter knives, and even my drywall hatchet are Razer Sharp. It's so therapeutic for me using it. I get into a meditative state as i sharpen, and feel every imperfection as i pass it over the blade. My favorite thing about my day everyday.

Haha! Thanks my friend! I reached out to him and said please send me one of these so I can review it 😂
That is actually a great tool. Thanks for the review.
Sharpen a knife every day 5 mins a day for 2 years. You will eventually be able to sharpen a knife on anything. No matter how bad you are when you start, you will devolp a feel. This is the key to sharping you don't need to buy anything it will only cost 5 mins a day. In the end you will feel like you can sharpen a bagel on bumper & get it razor sharp. Nothing is a replacement for a life skill you will always find it valuable.
Thank you. That was very clear and concise.

Great video. I am relatively new to your channel. In one of your videos you mentioned this sharpener. I am glad you did and also glad I watched it. I will give this sharpener a shot. Thanks.
i ve used these for years once u get it it s awesome
Ive watched so many of brads videos lol i ended up getting a carbide sharpener from lowes and they certainly do work i found the edges dont seem to last as long as stone edges but for like kitchen knives and stuff it works great

Look down on your edge, under light, if you see reflections, it's not sharp. Strop after sharpening for the razor edge that you're looking for. Something I learned in Cub Scouts.
I've got the blue poker chip and it's definitely a learning curve but once you figure it out it's hands down quickest sharpener I've used
That's a nice xmass gift
It would be cool if they added one of those spring loaded cords like they put on janitors keys. Then you could use the sharpener w/o having to unclip it from your keys or unclip your keys from your side etc. Just a thought.
Backside of a blade gives the best strike for a fire stick

I am unbelievably novice and sharpening knives I attempted to do the wet Rock Dale but couldn't figure out what kind of stone I had anyway so I watched the old man and I gave it a try and I bought one and you're right it takes a little bit to figure out how to do it but after watching your video I went through a knife sharpening spree through my entire house including a little bitty tiny sword if you could call it that that I got from Afghanistan thank you basically what I'm trying to say is cuz I was able to really understand what you were talking about about not hitting it too hard and making sure you get the angle right you just happen to be the guy that it clicked for anyway thank you

The only issue is brad won’t respond to messages on social media which is a big down side

he needs to throw away this blade chipmaker 5000 and come up with a new product... if u use that right angle ur gonna deepen chips... u cant have a honer that has no friction/grit to it, its a joke product, the carbide pull through is OK when ur blade is completely dull and u need a new profile and then u keep that same angle by using the same sharpener.
(I've had one for months and it has taken me a long time, I'm stubborn, I know this works, but I couldn't seem to get my knives razor sharp. However I am not able to sharpen dull knives to where they are sharp but still not Brad sharp, I will get there and I love this little gadget

That’s a handy dandy sharpener no doubt. Go far in the woods with a flat spare tire is risking it. On your long journey home on foot you get attacked and managed to put the animal down quickly 😂 now the knife is dull and you are more vulnerable to getting attacked again due to the smell and fear. I guess one could always use spit on a rock while walking, good luck!😂 Great video ❤

im sorry but this is a horrible way to sharpen an edge, maybe in an emergency until you can get a proper edge, but a proper edge has micro serrations like a saw blade, running anything in the direction this is going will only cut those off, im not saying it cant possibly get an edge sharper but it damn sure aint gonna last and its not a quality edge. a proper edge holds for a long time, then should be honed to bring back the micro serrations or stropped going in the direction that the micro serrations can be added and cleaned up

If it cuts it's sharp. A tool you use will get dull. You aren't going to sharpen in-between cuts in a real work environment, and a day of work will dull any knife. In the hands of the average person this would do them better than a whetstone. That's not even considering time consumption. You're a knife hobbyist, and your opinion means jack shit when it comes to work. It's obvious you don't do any.
That's what I need! The gorilla grip one I have is straight garbage. Leaves deep scratches in my blades. Not too happy about it.

I love my smith diamond sharpener..carbide removes way too much metal..its for people who dont know how to sharpen..probably okay for a cheap knife..
I would give it a go. Keep it in a emergency S.H.T.F pack. It would be better to have that in your tool kit that to have nothing at all.
They seem like a gimmicky "as seen on TV" kinda product to me, but. I do love buying American made products. I may have to take the risk on this one.
I don't need that kind of sharpener to sharpen my knife when I go camping I use smooth rocks to sharpen my knife

Yes, I have learned that these things are not very popular. It just depends on the knife for me. I’ve got some inexpensive $10 fixed blades that I like to use in these do keep them sharp.
Im in to nuclear sharp! I guess if you do thing half ass and want a "just ok edge".
@411Outdoors

Nuclear sharp is cool but it never stays that way especially if you’re working with it a lot. A working edge that is sharp enough to do the work is what I’m mainly concerned with. These things work different on different steels.

I have very expensive vg-10 knives, but at the meat plant we used dexter Russel knives $9.
How can you recommend something that has such a huge disclaimer such as results may vary this is one of the worst suggestions to sharpen a knife I’ve seen lately. I think you’d be better off with a flat brick with a little bit of water just keeping your angle consistent, and then a leather belt to strap with😅 typically like your content, just disagree strongly but again, hopefully people read the comments and do more research to make up their own mind.

I believe this is more of a field Sharpener. I use a whetstone most of the time but would use this as a touch up. It’s done well for me
Tungsten Carbon is the worst thing you can use to sharpen your blades, especially a pull through, any knife person knows this. I like keeping my blades and not destroying them. It may work, but it’s not for me, I’ll never use on my knives.
@411Outdoors

Not really a fan so much of the pull through. I would only do that with certain blades. I mainly like this for doing a little brushing out in the field for expendable pocket knives.
