I thought the same way. When I was watching I thought inclusive offer won't help. They are growing and seems like succesfull so look into the future plan and invest in that. Like when you buy stocks you have to look at the company future plans and products. If they can bring some profit then it's worth to buy stock... Simple example is Tesla.

Robert and Mr. Wonderful fucked them by trying to get a bite of the corporate stores. All the sharks started smelling blood and lost sight of the fact that they are supposed to be investing in the entrepreneurial potential and not the produce of past harvests. Mark got a good deal because he's willing to take the risk.

The fact they were willing to give up 15% on 450k PROFIT means that in 10 years they’d have free equity and then a 15% tap on what is sure to be a steady money teat But it makes less risk to the investor for sure - Mark can afford to take the risk

As a franchise lawyer and fan of shark tank, I was surprised by the reaction of the sharks to not getting the corporate owned stores and not surprised that Mark didn't care

This is what I like about Mark, he didn't take offense to not being offered the other stores, but he also understood that since they were successful with the other model 4 times, it's likely they would be successful a 5th time. He also understood that there's more risk with the 5th one and asked for more equity, that way when/if it is successful, he'll have a bigger piece of the pie.

I really love how Daymond was honest with him being a competitor and being out. I was dragons den which is like a Canadian and British Shark Tank, and there was a woman who was completely ripping this business head to toe on nonsense. The whole time she didn’t disclose she has a similar but different product that she works with that would be direct competition. She blatantly discredited them and then said she’s out. It was just gross seeing it happen, and have her ruin someone’s possible future when she could have been honest like Daymond

The whole time she just was rude and poked holes that weren’t really there in the pitch, with out stating that the product would be a direct competitor with her products.

Kevin offers shitty deals involving a royalty or loaning out the money as debt, basically getting free equity in the end. He's never willing to take risks with his money and take the chance that he might lose it if the company eventually goes to zero, even if the business looks promising. His deals literally put all the risk and the danger on the entrepreneur. Mark IS willing to take risks with the entrepreneur in that he might not get his investment back if the company goes south, so people tend to like his deals more, even if he wants a little more equity than they're comfortable giving away.

Mark is strategic and not a greedy investor and hence he is the ideal investor

Mark knows his stuff

One of these stores got put in a mile down the road from me. I went in trying to get a milkshake that isn't spilling out of its own container and that doesn't have 1200 calories of candy put on top. They don't do that, apparently. I went across the street to the other milkshake store.
