The Sharks Are Destined For GREATNESS Thanks To Their 2024 NHL Draft Class!

In today’s video I breakdown the San Jose Sharks 2024 NHL draft class. I also speculate on how well those players will mesh with their young core and prospect pool.
I give a detailed analysis about Macklin Celebrini, Sam Dickinson, Igor Cherynshov, and Leo Sahlin Wallenius.
I praise the Sharks organization for their solid drafting over the past couple of seasons. Bringing in Will Smith, Kasper Halttunen, and Quentin Musty last year is also a big theme.

Player development is one of the most important things for a rebuilding squad. I’m hoping SJ can make that their priority and make sure they help all of these young guys reach their ceilings.

Halttunen is not a perfect player but he made a lot of improvements rounding out his game in London this season and the other Sharks prospects really seemed to gravitate towards his positive attitude at the development camp last week.

Hi James! New Viewer. This is a great break down and it gives me hope as a Sharks fan! So question, what do you think of Cagnoni? In the prospect scrimmage and dev camp I noticed that his defensive ability has gotten loads better, so I genuinely believed he's gonna be great but I want to know what you think.

@@Inub0i happy to hear! Trying to give fans of a rebuilding team some hope is one of my specialties haha so I’m glad you liked the video. For a fourth rounder from last year I would say he’s taken some notable steps with his development. He had a big year in Portland! As for his play at the SJ development camp I didn’t get to see, but I will take your word for it. He’s got some really solid two way upside! Definitely a prospect to keep your eye on and still so much time for him to grow. Let’s see if he can make a big statement at the Sharks training camp in September. That’s the next step.

@JamesMillerHockey Awesome! Super excited for him. In dev camp at least they had 1 on 1s with the other prospects. Against Celebrini in particular, he was able to use his skating and stick to prevent Celebrini from taking the middle and pushed him to the outside. It was insane

Eric Pohlkamp is probably our top RHD prospect. He played great at the prospect scrimmage, had a great development camp, and is headed to Denver University after transferring from Bimidji State. He has top 4 potential, and I see him likely ending up as a second pair d-man. Next year Sharks will likely finish with a top 10 draft pick - cue Logan Hensler - a nice RHD to add to the mix. If not they can add one via trades or free agency once their compete window opens.

  • @JamesMillerHockey

@@Fox2Charlie I’ll have to look into Pohlkamp! If he has top four upside and if you guys could bring in Logan Hensler then that sounds promising. Plus SJ is gonna have loads of cap space available. It’s a very desirable destination so I’d imagine tons of intriguing free agents are gonna be interested in joining the Sharks!
