*On top of that, it seems to me that the model of that crown already existed... they just took the model of a generic helmet that already existed in the game and put it as ''THE NEW REFORGED CROWN''...* If they were going to use an existing model it is quite ridiculous and pathetic how they did not EVEN bother to take the existing model of a better crown/helmet, there being several better options...

The Pure Genius moment is the portrait of Arthas falling in the growing fire in the background. They basically broke the fourth wall when they had Sylvanas tell us to forget about Arthas. It felt like THE DEVS saying it to the PLAYERS. "Forget that old WoW you THINK you like." Was just as bad as what Kevin Smith did with He-Man.

The Varien scene with Anduin actually did make me have some feels, then Saurfang showed up and I was confused. He had some talks, but I didnt think they would build that much of a connection.

@@godlygamer911 Yes cuz of it's PVE being good. The community was literally starved for good content after WoD, that's why a semi-decent expansion was looked at more favorably than it should've. The PVP community still hated it because it had that awful pvp scaling system where a brand new character can fight on equal terms with your main just because your gear doesn't matter. You know, the POINT of an mmorpg, your gear, the shit you grind for fucking weeks - and it doesn't matter cuz dumbo and mumbo made a druid and rogue and are teabagging you in arenas because their classes are broken and they're still in greens on top of that. So, if you were a PVPer, the game was still shit, and most oldschool players are pvpers, since THAT was the endgame of wow for a long time. You went to raids to get gear to help you in pvp. Now it's just raiding for it's own sake, and then doing nothing with said gear except raid some more, which is utterly boring. WoW has been dead for it's true players since MoP at least.

I just ran through the shadowlands plot after discovering these videos about shadowlands, the entire thing became a comedy skit with lots of inappropriate emotes, Uther got many a headpats when he was being sad, kinda made his whole redemption much more satirical and wholesome, roleplaying with the story is mandatory imo, it really makes everything more grounded when you can immerse yourself into the situation without taking anything seriously, which I find works very well when we got such a high stakes concept with whatever the hell zereth mortis or whatever is supposed to be, I feel like Ezio Auditore is about to come assasinate me after I accidentally find the Apple of gold or whatever it was

Didn't say a single line, appeared as a Night Elf Wisp, and the last thing he heard before truly dying is the undead elf girl's voice. Not to defend Blizzard's dogshit writing, but Arthas did technically start doing some shady shit before Frostmourne claimed his soul: purging Stratholme, trapping his men in Northrend and killing the Mercs he hired for example. Sylvanas was a bitch whilst alive (As all high elves were), but the shady shit started for her after she died.

@@leobovine Go watch some ads that are being played these days. 90% of them will feature nearly the entire cast being minorities. Nearly guaranteed to quite literally be one of each though often times leaning black with the occasional white in the extras. If there is a white in the main cast they will 80% of the time be female. You will see the same when it comes to many recent movies, predominantly minority and/or female characters for the protagonist side with predominantly white and male characters for the villain side. Keep in mind that a lot of these productions are made in Hollywood, which is located in California. Not to mention Blizzard is based in California. A state that straight up has laws mandating such "representation". Just the way things are currently.

The final scene with Arthas's soul fragment was a mix of sad and funny to me Sylvannas, instead of finally making peace with Arthas after living through basically the same thing as him ,just monologues Arthas till he decides to fade from existence like a wet fart just to get away from her. And Uther and Jaina just stood there and didn't say A WORD to probably the last remnant of one of the most important people in their lives, who's downfall effected them so greatly it sent them both into a downward spiral

Jaina was already done with Arthas so it's probably normal she doesn't care about him anymore, she dealt with many more problem since he died. For Uther it's true, he could have words like Sylvanas did.

He was like, her one and only real love in her life, and one of her best friends to boot. She legit never opened up to another person like she did to Arthas, not even Thrall or any of her apprentices or tutors. I highly doubt Jaina "didn't care". Well, the real Jaina, not this bastardized watered down version of her that has like 2 emotional states - sorrow and anger. She had so much left unsaid to him and it's even mentioned in like novels and side lore and shit. Yes, I know, "side lore" memes, but WoW has been building it up for so much time only for it to end like this. Her dealing with other problems doesn't mean she still doesn't mourn and have regrets about Arthas. On the contrary, those just made those deep cuts even more deep. As for Uther - I doubt the Author truly understood Uther, and only saw him in like gameplay vids of warcraft 3 or whatever he knew from WoW's few mentions of him. And Uther is such a deeply complex character underneath the stale "Old Paladin" trope.

3:33-truly the most saddest scene in this game. You can feel for the emotions that the Blood Elf Death Knight is going through as he watched a most iconic helmet turned, into a f**king Burger King crown.

What always got me was that the Winter Queen LEFT the sigil. On one of the covenant leaders was literally the best place it could be.

Steve Danuser needs to be fired, no question about it. From a business perspective, it shouldn't be hard to notice that WoW players like the lore and history of the old content, and that when all of that is muddied, it assists in giving them a reason to unsubscribe. This dude undid a bunch of lore so that Sylvanas can have blue eyeballs and call herself good. They need to fire Steve Danuser. Any writer could make something more consistent.

I've literally never seen a guy more determined to destroy his predecessor's work than Danloser. I'm worried how he'll handle the dragons next, I can take a guess tho he'll kill off Nozdormu and replace him as aspect with chromie because he doesn't know the lore and forgot Anachronos exists or just retcon Anachronos out of existence since that's his thing these days.

The son moment being ruined was too good

God. I lost it REALLY bad when Sarufang said he traded more lines with Anduin than Sarufang Junior.

If you listen to Sylvannas' monologue to Arthas, it's pretty clear that the WoW writing team is just directly speaking about Arthas and Wc3, with people who kept bringing it up and wanting to see them or that level of writing return. Now it's done and gone, may nobody remember their legacy. Otherwise what she's saying makes no sense, because she knows he was just being controlled by the jailer, like Anduin, and like she supposedly was. Also Elune accidentally sending everyone to mega-hell to be tortured until their souls disitengrated was pretty hilarious. Hope Sylvannas brought a dustpan!

What hurt me the most was Arthas's theme 'Invincible' being played while Jailor was giving his speech. My soul died as I was laughing. 10/10 Grim.

The reforged Helm looks as if it's just the structural base and the more decorative part of the helm would be build around it,.. like for example if it was a "Borrowed Power / Artifact" this would be the base form that every class wears but as they progress with it to make it stronger more is build onto it until it is eventually completed.

That 0:18 effect combined with voice acting is freaking amazing.

What pissed me off the most in this expansion is how they pissed upon Arthas, Garrosh and Elune. Arthas was basically backbone of Warcraft and genuinely morally gray character until his corruption by Frostmourne, only to turn into wisp and fizzle out while listening to Danuser's elven waifu's monologue. Elune was the most mysterious of all deities in Warcraft, and when she finally revealed herself in that cinematic with Winter Queen, she said she didn't know that all elven souls were going to Maw instead of Ardenweald, even though Winter Queen said that she and Elune were keeping contact, which is a giant plothole. Not to mention Garrosh who, even though he was a war criminal and Orc nationalist, just fucking evaporated on trash mob and writers missed a chance to make his death similar to Grom's from Warcraft III by confronting Jailer like Grom did with Mannoroth. Arbiter's replacement doesn't make any fucking sense. Expansion was a mess, I don't believe that next one will be any better.

Arthas' ending was such bullshit. They played a "Disney" so that they wouldn't piss off the fans of their undead waifu by busting him down to nothing more than a plot device. No redemption, no goodbyes, just "oh, he isn't important enough to even exist now". I'm indifferent on the whole Elune thing, but once again the writers didn't read their own script when they made Tyrande judge Sylvanas. "Yeah, I know Elune was the reason the tree was burned, but I'm going to ignore my goddess to damn Sylvanas for an eternity because I haven't learned anything." - Tyrande

Tyrande in matter of one cinematic went from Doomslayer type of angry ("I will sign the treaty only with banshee's blood!" in BfA) to being a softie fem-cuck after possession from Elune, basically forgiving her and "condemning" Sylvanas to doing dailies in Maw instead of getting her head. So fvcking infuriating. Danuser should've stayed being fanfic writer instead of senior lead writer. If Garrosh did the same, he would be even more punished than in War Crimes novel. Arthas also deserved better treatment than being a fvcking wisp.

I really felt the player characters pain when they reforged the helmet. We all needed a minute to take in that blow.

I would certainly be in for a 20 or 30-minute extended version! Loved it! (The video, not Shadowlands Shadowlands can diaf).

Remember guys, when people defend danuser by saying he only had the scraps to work with; its an authors skill and job, that makes a story good, not the premise. You can make a boring, bad idea, into an increadible story if your a skilled writer. . . . Dansuer & Co dont have that. Good luck in dragonblight, you'll need it.

I just hate how they keep trying to unbury the past. Uther’s back, there was a lingering part of Arthas *again*, and Sylv gets yet another second chance arc. Dragonflight looking generic is almost a relief. Maybe Garrosh and Varian won’t even come back from the dead.

"It looks like a f*cking burger king crown" I can't unsee it now.

Thank you for putting the time and effort to create this. I really loved the details, and had fun reading the "genius" tale near the end.

I genuinely tried to focus on the new lore in this expac, I genuinely tried to read the quest texts and memorize who each of these NPCs were. But every time it'd all just go in through one ear, and out the other at the same time and I just go "literally who are you?" at almost every "important" NPC in this expansion. I *still* have no idea what the covenant sigils are or why they are so important. I just can't be bothered to be mad at this expansion anymore, I just go "uh huh" at every quest and twist in the story... and promptly forget about what just happened in like 5 seconds or less.

The Varian/Saurfang scene reminds me of how Anduin has like 3 Dad's and no mom Would be much more interesting if Genn was there

right?! there are at least a dozen other characters that'd be more appropriate (or just Varian alone) I certainly don't dislike Saurfang, but the only reason he's there is because spreads the faction representation more for the ending and because he got a greater popularity boost since the Old Warrior cinematic. There are "rule of cool" moments where I'll look the other way, but this ain't it - there are so many allies through Anduin's past who would've had a much greater impact. Heck, even Arthas with Varian would've made more sense if they wrote Anduin experiencing something similar to soul-bonding with Arthas while he's used as fuel.

Yes having some connection with Arthas would be understandable due to the soul fragment however in relation to the sword the most connected individuals would be Varian, Anduin, and Saurfang

@@marcfish8897 While that's a decent thought to chew on, I never saw anything that claims splitting the blades have anything to do with the wielder. It's not a skill to be able to split the blades; it's a magical property of the item itself. Saurfang was strong but also just a warrior; he's holds zero value toward splitting Shalamayne into its 2-blade form. The whole point of the Varian+Saurfang vision is them breaking Anduin out of the domination magic. Him splitting the sword was nothing more than a dramatic representation of his mind getting freed; it wasn't what actually caused it.

And don't forget: who gets to say goodbye to the last flicker of Arthas soul? Uther? who was his master and felt guilty of his downfall? Nope Jaina? The one that loved him? Nope MOTHER FRIKING SYLVANAS WINDRUNNER

Love the whole Anduin bit. He is the adopted son every childless person or single parent wants in the game. Surprised I didn''t see Genn in there.

That where you were wrong buddy so very wrong in fact . Without jaina , the lorderon expedition would have never gotten to kalimnor to meet the orcs and the night elves. Without her agreeing with medivh to escape the kingdom to found answer. The burning legion would have crushed the night elves and burn tedrassil. (Same goes for thrall leading the horde to kalimnor) Has for Uther well , you see I was the one to trained arthas into becoming a paladin…. Yeah I let you do the math.

@@antoinecyr2833 🤣🤣And? Furion would have blown the horn and killed Archimonde anyway. There was no reason for Jaina, Tyrande and Thrall to throw the remaining population in front of Archimonde. In fact, Archmage Jaina was to investigate the undead plague and report the crucial information back to the Kirin Tor so they can start developing the cure to the the plague and reverse it. That was her ONLY job. Arthas would have done a better job reducing the orc population as a Warrior with a huge sword than a Paladin. Unlike Uther who kept them around because "We wouldn't be any different from them" while they continue sacrificing human being. Like I said, You can remove Jaina and Uther from the game and nothing would change. In fact you can remove Paladins and Mages from the game and nothing would change. And, Finally, Medivh who only gave the visions to Thrall! Not the Elves, Mages, Night elves, Dwarves or Humans, he just gave it to thrall. He comes in like a beggar despite being a legend he doesn't tell him who he really is, then he trolls the king and tells him to move his ENTIRE KINGOMS of Human, Drawf and Elves to another continent and then was surprised no one took him seriously making the Medivh is the worst prophet. The reason the undead spread to the degree that it did was because Medivh and Jaina were both complete idiots.

Do you like what you see so far ? :o The new race is an incubus reskin with cringe look and also only 2 spec, you will have to learn to ride dragons (even if your character knows it for years) and the new fly system will only be in the new zones. The new cinematic is idc tier and the new dragon mounts have no consistency (a dinosaure, a wyvern and a proto Drake reskin ?) The only good thing is the talent tree coming back but come on... We had that even back on 2004

If i ever came back the game will be only for playing with friends and the gameplay (I really had fun on m+ until 9.1). After shadowlands I seriously don't give a flying fuck about the story or the characters in the game, and I'm 99% sure they won't be able to do a good story anymore.

Jaina's BULL SHIT was gold lmao.

At the end where he closed the book with undeserving satisfaction, it reminded me of the episode of Futurama where Fry was proud of the book he wrote with many spelling errors and plot holes.

I also like how they retcon all of the individual race's afterlife lore. Trolls go to Da Other Side with Bwomsamdi (or whoever the death loa is at the time. Oh, and it's somehow IN the Shadowlands?). It makes no sense for Loa to go to the Shadowlands when they aren't even a part of that cycle, they are gods. Night elves become wisps on Azeroth. Vrykul go to Halls of Valor or Helheim (depending on if good or bad). I know there's others, I can't think off the top of my head. What about spirits and souls still on Azeroth that we have met in the past and have helped or have helped us? Why aren't they in the Shadowlands if they aren't meant to stay on Azeroth? I also like the whole "oh, the Light and the Void mean nothing" bullshit you learn about if Kyrian. "Yeah, sorry, Alexandros, your devotion to the Light meant absolutely nothing, we're sending you to Maldraxxus where you can spend an eternity smelling like you were dumped in the Bog of Eternal Stench. Uther? Yeah, even though we practically see the future, somehow we can't stop him from turning evil." OH! There's also druids, they go to the Emerald Dream when they die. Ysera went there. So did Ursoc. They are IN THE DREAM. You can see them there when you finish the Nightmare raid. How did they get into the Shadowlands?

That mooing sound when Baine was falling from the cliff will live on among my most hilarious memories.

The only positive part of Shadowlands that hasn't been absolute dogshit, is blessing us with the genuine treasure that is Captain Grim.

The Winter queen displaying anything approaching ACTUAL fucking emotion is so cursed. Love it. The Archon vigorously fanning Zovaal so the winter queen's ultra fast punches hurt more is hilarious.

Some ideas: - Struggles of an auctioneer - Classes specialities (like Priest Holy, Monk Brewmaster) in a nutshell - Professions in a nutshell, - Horde/Alliance in a nutshell - Struggles of transmogifiers - PvP ina nutshell - Struggles of LFG groups - Wow expansion plots in a nutshell - Struggles of playing TBC/Wrath etc.

That moo sound Baine made got me good 😂

I've never played this expansion but I dead damn sure that helmet has Spirit stats on it.

I hate it when stories do the "And it was all a dream", but please Blizzard, please tell me this was all a dream. We never beat N'zoth and this is still a nightmare.

it never ceases to amaze me how people like grim can take the absolute trash that is shadowlands and make it entertaining. there is just one scene i would've added and that is the one where the necrolord smith opens the vault that was meant to be impossible for the jailer to open and basically hands him the sigil because they wrote themselves into a corner and couldn't think of a good reason for him to get it.

So damn infuriating when they turned something iconic like the lich king helmet into some ugly questing greens.
