Herbert Ross has one of the most amazing filmographies--The Goodbye Girl, Last of Sheila, Pennies from Heaven, Play It Again Sam, The Secret of My Success and Footloose!
These extras are worth double dipping from the Shout Factory version!
Written by Nicholas Meyer, who co-wrote STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN, wrote and directed TIME AFTER TIME, directed Tom Hanks and John Candy in VOLUNTEERS and wrote INVASION OF THE BEE GIRLS!

I love volunteers
This is my favourite Sherlock Holmes film. I like how the film has a sharp sense of humour though it's not a parody (An American Werewolf In London would later follow suit). A few problems: both Joel Gray and Samantha Egger are wasted, Lawrence Oliver isn't given enough to do.
One of three great 1970’s Sherlock Holmes movies, the other two also available on Blu Ray would be The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes (Eureka) and Murder by Decree (Vintage Classics).

I love the private life. I don’t think I’ve seen Murder by decree though.

@@manvfilm Murder by Decree is certainly worth a watch. Christopher Plummer as Holmes, James Mason as Watson, other cast include Donald Sutherland, David Hemmings, Frank Finlay, Genevieve Bujold, Anthony Quayle and John Gielgud. It’s based on the Jack the Ripper murders and is directed by Bob Clark (Black Christmas, A Christmas Story, Porky’s).

Thanks. It’s such a great release, a little unusual from 88 Films but I hope they do more films like this.

It’s great, you’ll love it
I watched that a few weeks ago, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I thought Alan Arkin was brilliant. I thought the main problem with Robert Duvall was his accent! I think I just got used to it. I agree - it's well worth buying.

Duvalls accent is so off at the start. But like you say you get used to it.
I think this movie might have been partially responsible for my current occupation 🧐
