The setting I use on my Sigma 150 to 600 mm lens
This week’s video is about the setting on my Sigma zoom 150 to 600 mm lens. I was asked a few days ago, what setting I use on my lens. I have never been asked that before, so I decided to make a video about. I have never though much about the setting I have on my lens there are only four but after reading the manual I began to understand that there is more to the lens then I was thinking.
I hope that you enjoy the video.
Thanks
Sean

You should have your VR/OS off if your shooting at shutter speed of 1/1000 or greater. The stabilization can introduce shake/blur. If your lens had a sport mode for it stabilization like Nikons VR system does that mode will be fine as that is for panning. If you're all over the place tracking then still turn off your VR/OS

Up until a few months ago, I have always shut off the OS on the lens when it's attached to the tripod. I recently heard that turning off the OS isn't necessary when attached to the tripod. I understand that shutting the os off keeps the focusing from getting "confused" I'm still waiting for a reasonable explanation for not shutting the os off from who ever said it's ok!!

I took my 150-600 out yesterday and was taking pics of my friends surfing at Hookipa Maui. I could not get this lens to come into focus at all with my Canon 70D. I had it on a tripod. I tried with manual focus and it would not come into focus. I tried with AF and it continuously hunted for focus and would not come into focus. The guys were about 200 yards or more from my point on land. I put in my Canon 70-300 Mm lens and it was crystal clear with no problems what so ever. I have no idea what to do as I am relatively new to photography but I sure would like to get this lens to work for me.

This is a lot. It seams that you camera is working as it should. I would like to see you try it with a different camera. If the lens don't work with a different camera then there is a problem with the lens. i have had the same problem about 6 mouth ago. I sent it to Sigma and they had to replace about $300 worth of parts and labor. this is not what you want to hear but they turn it around in about three weeks. i wish you the best.

@@Birdmanphotography When I used the dock it looked for updated software and it said it was up to date. I bought it about three months aga . After update it was pretty much the same with focusing OK at shorter distances but when going all the way out from about 400mm to 600mm is where the problem is. Like I said when I was doing the surf photos it was on a tripod and I used a remote shutter and I could not get it to focus. But when I put on my other 150-300 Canon lense and used manual focus or AF it was crystal clear! I think I just need to continue changing the settings until it gets better. I think it is unfortunate that for a $900 lense you have to spend hours and hours trying to get it to work. I don't have to do anything to my Canon lense and it is perfect!
