I want to add a cool trick that helps with JUMP CUTTING. Corridor used it in the primitive motorcycle videos. Here it is: - Instead of simply cutting from Shot A to Shot B on frame 1 for example. - You divide Shot A into multiple sections (like a jigsaw puzzle) using masks. - And now you have Shot A1, A2, A3, A4 and Shot B a layer underneath. - And you cut just parts of it at a time, like A1 on frame 1 (where the action is happening), A2 on frame 2 (your actor's face), A3 on frame 3 (maybe some background elements that have shifted - like trees) - And this way you trick the eyes because it's not the WHOLE frame that is changing AT ONCE, your eyes are guided by the action and you don't see that other things change ofer 4-5 frames as they are just fragments that don't draw attention. - You can also try fade/dissolve for a couple of frames if that works better for the less important A shots (the background for example)
