To fix Firefox you can right click on the address bar and do customize toolbar then you can click on "use system title bar"

i wish windows 7 still had just security updates nothing else i would be more than happy

still does, windows 7 is more compatible then you think, 0patch is great for security patches, and it runs great with no unknown devices with my computer (specs that matter for windows 7 considering they are modern: ryzen 7 3700x rtx 3060 and a 1tb gen 4 ssd!

@@prasadkadam4625 + AAA Titles and programs are no longer supporting the OS anymore. Fortnite, Roblox, and Steam recently dropped app support for Windows 7 and 8 as well as all popular browsers like Opera, Chrome and Firefox.

I suspect that windows installer is actually the real Windows 7 installer. However, all the installer does is apply the install.wim file to the system. So you could just replace the install.wim file and have a 7 installer install 10, you could even do this with a Vista installer if you wanted (but not a XP> one because thats different)

The network panel was from Windows 8. This is basically an explorerpatcher + open shell skin with a little more polish.

I have debloated my windows 11 and I get 65 processes when the computer is booted and I usually get 77-94 processes running in background. That's pretty lightweight for a Windows 11 OS.

Just something for the few of you that are reading this with windows 7, you can actually get windows 10 and even 11 programs running using a tool called the windows 7 extended kernel which tricks your system into believing its running NT10 and not NT6.2 which is what 7 uses (the extended kernel even works for vista but nobody still uses, or probably even remembers that nightmare of an os)

Windows 7's Extended Kernel is basically in it's infancy, It might grow in future years, who knows?

@eggrobo I did know that at least a few people still used it, but still at the time of release it was buggy, slow and overall a downgrade from xp up until about SP1, and even on modern hardware it still offers worse performance than any linux distro or 7, 10 or 11

@@xenoxia by Vista SP2 it was almost up to par with Windows 7. Try Vista on something like a Thinkpad from the appropriate age, with a decent CPU and about 2 gigs of RAM. Vista runs great, up on par with Windows 7, but XP still uses less resources than either of them.

My only gripe with it , is that it would not feel like actually having windows 7 installed on my pc because I would be fully aware of the fact that I'm emulating windows instead of clean booting into it

A thing to note: Windows Update is killed off, as if you try to update, it will download 22H2, and this is based on 1709. Things that give it away: There is no glow effect on the Window, which there was on Windows 7. The buttons are wrong, the font sizing is wrong. There are way too many gadgets for this mod. As you saw, Winver and Command Prompt shows 7746, which is a Windows 8 build, not Windows 7 RTM (or Service Pack 1)
