This was very informative. May I add that women of colour have a natural wide variation in their appearances. It is a spectrum. On one extreme there are the women of West Africa with wider noses and fuller lips. On the other extreme there are East African women with narrower noses and thinner lips. All I ask is that this variability be kept in mind and that patients of colour not be given what the injector's standard of beauty is but rather that their results truly make them beautiful.

There are many variations in Caucasian people too. I think it is important to tailor the procedure based on consultation rather than generalisations.

My problem is down turned lips, well the top lip. My oral commissures as you detailed turn down. I wonder if filler can correct this or I need another sort of procedure that can make my lip turn up or even just go length ways :)

Mix Breed Kayla i used to feel the same way then i went ahead and decided to get 1 syringe of juvederm xc and it smoothed out every line on my lips without looking like i had my lips done. I absolutely love wearing lipstick now and lining my lips... its amazing the difference in smoothness it makes 😊

That was a true check. But I also saw a comment that someone made which I would agree with...Kylie Jenner had very small lips and hers are large now and pretty looking. I also thought of her when he said it was unacheivable. However hers did not look natural. I wonder if her being a teenager helped in the sense that she would have more elasticity than and older person. She did hers gradually as well.

Yes. With multiple sessions you can achieve natural fuller lips. We just don't recommend doing it all at once. Kylie probably had multiple sessions and might have a few here and there to maintain her look.

It is not unachievable but multiple sessions are needed. We do not recommend going from thin to very full in one session as that will not produce natural results.

Yes, it is possible to go from small thin lips to plumper lips, we have several before and after results on our website that show dramatic results. But do keep in mind that to ensure natural results the lip filler should be gradual so the lips don't look stretched and unnatural.
