When you automated the dry/wet on reverb…😍😍 so good. Thanks for these videos they’re so helpful.
As someone who is just starting to get into producing music, your videos Ethan have been super helpful. Appreciate the time you put into explaining everything in detail but also making it understandable for beginners like myself. Unreal👏🏻

Legend! Always a new advice that helps me getting better. Thx
I'm a longtime casual musician, but new to recording and producing. You're a great teacher and the steps are easy to follow. I love when someone shows me, not just tells me how something works. I love that you give alternatives for those who don't own certain plugins too. Thank you for making this video!

I have Ableton 11 Suite and Logic, but I followed along in Reason because it's my favorite DAW 😂. Just wanted to say this was such a satisfying tutorial to follow because of your good energy and the Music was enjoyable to listen to. It's super simple but still a dope track. You gave us the necessary buiding blocks to create our own variations and/or repurpose what you're doing here for a new track. Thanks a lot for this!
Thank you Ethan
Amazing man thanx ❤

OMG!! I never noticed the create fade on clip edges before!! I typically work in MIDI, but I was playing with some vocals recently noticed that annoying default behavior. I would then have to go in manually and correct it every time - ugh!! Smashed that "Off" button - thanks for the tip!!!
you earned my subscription. What a legend.
Great videos, having me wanting to switch over to abeleton
Nice one Ethan, keep it up and... no excuses 🙂
Damn ! You just created fire !!!
This gives such a deadmau vibes. Love it ❤

Ethan thank you for the content. It’s helping me learn a lot just in the first couple weeks. Couple questions. • Are your tutorials suited for all three versions of Ableton? I only got the Intro for now just to dip my toes and was wondering if anything you’re teaching will be over my head because I don’t have certain features. • What are or how do you inspire yourself for creating melodies for a song? Thanks in advance. Any tips would help. Happy Holidays and a banger start to 2024. Subbed! 🤙
So nice! thanks Ethan! Maybe you can do the same with a Deep Groovy house, something like HotSince82. Thanks
Tnks!
I always pick up some little bit of advice from these videos no matter how long I've been producing! This time I decided to look into some more OLIVER samples for my drum sounds. i always thought they sounded slightly too disjointed and weak.
I like you, i wish you more and more success you totally deserve it
could totally see this as a released vip edit of dream haha good work Ethan!

Pro-Tip: Set the playback speed to 50%... ;-) He says he created the song in 52 minutes, I don't mean to brag, but I'm pretty sure I could replicate this in 52 weeks or less. This man is literally a MONSTER in Ableton, and probably any other DAW that he would decide to use. Thanks Ethan!
Wooo wooo I got disconnected for a second from KZread. And of course, Mr.Davis nails the genre of this video [starts dancing] People need Ethan in their lives for real!
Hey! I can't see a compressor in my audio effects. Is this something you have to download separately?
Interesting! Let’s stay in touch.
Ma best content 🤩
am i allowed to swear here? GDAMN DUDE! THIS IS IT! thank you so much. just finished my ableton beginner course (offline with a teacher) and now working on getting my first song out. I am wondering though, why are you working in arrangement view the whole time? I was taught to make everything in session view first and then for the final steps go to arrangement view, so following your tutorial requires complete rewiring of my brain ;-) which i am going to do now, since i love the result you have there and learning new things...

Can you make a tutorial on how to make hardstyle tracks
Hello I am biggnner @46 always loved progressive house remixes.. pls advice how to create one from scratch and what all softwares are required Thanks in advance Vishal pahwa
Hey Ethan! I just came back from a mammoth 3 day festival in Saudi called MDL Beast SoundStorm and I got to see all my fave teenage and uni years artists (DeadMau5, Axwell, Tiesto AVB) and some new ones like Black Coffee. I came home and dusted off my LPP Mk3 and MiniLab3 which have sat idly for almost 4 years and realised that after listening to my fave acts live is that I never mastered the true basics of music production - DRUM PATTERNS ! Could you please do a video covering the foundational drum patterns according to genres and their respective BPMs? It hit me that I’ll never master the basics of the midi controllers and DAW if I can’t just lay down a simple house drum pattern- no amount of my Splice or my plugins can correct or fill in for that so look forward to a video on this!

@@CompleteProducer Thank you! Ive heard things like "Four On The Floor" and "hats on the upbeat" vs "kicks on the downbeat" but it doesnt translate well when using a step sequencer which makes me think that i need to go right back to basics and nail the patterns on the DAW with a mouse first! Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas!
I love how he had to lead with a disclaimer about what progressive house is to him 😂 people get so touchy about edm genres
Are you with isla vista worship?! I love your songs if this is you I can’t tell… but if not I’m a Christian and love house music and making some right now
You mention a guy called Oliver with the splice drum samples, how do I find his samples on splice...??? Thanks.

As a fan of progressive rock and metal music, I would looooooove if progressive electronic music also had odd time signatures and time signature changes within a song. Are there any producers out there who incorporate that in their electronic music? :)
@CompleteProducer
5 ай бұрын
most EDM is based on bars and loops and because of that odd time signatures really mess you up when you're djing. i think almost no one ventures out of 4/4 because they want DJs to play their music haha
Unfortunately the little pic of yr head - bottom left, was covering up the compressor so we couldn't see by how many dB the bass was being cut by the kick
@CompleteProducer

awe sorry about that! i would say to just adjust the threshold to taste! the biggest thing is that you aren't hearing audible clipping or distortion
As the legend once said "aaauuh"
we need a tutorial on how to produce music like max martin 😭😭

I know you love hot keys, so thought I mention to people you can bring up automation mode just by pressing A 👍🏼

yes! i would use this one a lot if i didn't use my computer keyboard as a midi keyboard. the automation hotkey doesn't work if the midi keyboard/computer keyboard is enabled :(

it's also saved on the hard drive! I think also having a time machine backup, or a comprehensive backup of your entire computer that you update regularly would also be good to have. I have moved to using a NAS for big backup stuff and it seems to be reliable so far.

Prog House isn’t 128… just saying . Great tutorial though. Those cans are crazy big.
Nice sounds. But what's really difficult for me is to make music that sounds unique. What you showed is nice and polished but it sounds generic. Actually you even called that song a product, to me that doesn't evoke art.
it sounds like 2007
its not simple hahah
Oliver is good. Manuel Schleis is better
